Jane,
Don't feel bad about not being here- everyone deals with loss and copes in their own way, you have to do what is right for you. Come back when you feel like you can.
Two months is not much time- I know, but it will get better. The down side of loving a tripawd (or any pup) so much is how hard it is for us to let them go.
Best to Cathy and her family too.
Karen
Dear Cathy,
It's very hard and we all understand. The heart takes a long time to mend. And even then, it's still never healed.
We aren't going anywhere and would love for you to share when and only when you can. We know you care.
I just haven't been able to keep reading about the deaths. It was just too overwhelming for me.
We totally understand. We try to add fun stuff and humor. It's a great coping mechanism. Maybe you can take small steps and read only the good and fun stuff...it might help some.
I'm just so sorry.
When my Rugby died - 2 months after his death - I had only gained 8 lbs! At 6 months - I was up to 15lbs! So, I know first hand that 2 months is a short time. I drowned myself in potato chips for 6 months! (Thank goodness for acid reflux or I may have never stopped!)
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
