Sorry you are not online now. I had to say goodbye to my baby 3 weeks ago tomorrow. It's been very hard, still is. But look thru other posts you will see everyone here has great compassion.
It's my birthday today, I keep getting "Happy Birthday" texts. Well I don't feel happy and the one thing I want most, well, not going to happen. Left work early.
So you are not alone. Take comfort in the company and advice you find here. You are among friends.
Share your story with us.
Losing a pet is such a unique loss. And one that, unfortunately, society at large doesn't really understand. For a lot of us, losing a pet is more traumatic and harder than losing a human family member or friend.
There are a lot of people here who understand, in the forums, chat room and on the blogs.
After Rocky died, I went at least once a week to the APLB (Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement) chat rooms. https://aplb.or.....etloss.cgi. They have chats Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 8-10 p.m. EDT. Again, people who have and are going through losing a beloved pet. I found it very helpful, in addition to coming here for support among my Tripawds friends.
It's been nearly seven months since Rocky went to the Bridge, and I've just now reached the point where I don't cry about him every day (it's more like every other day now). But it does get better.
David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)
Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.
Oh no! So very, very sorry to hear that Lola had to head to the Bridge. And I'm sorry no e of us were avle to respond until today.
PLEASE come back and share more with us about your sweet pup. We already know the depth of your love will ALWAYS keep the two of you connected. We alsomknow thst, when yoy love a sog that much, the hurt and pain you feel when they transition seems unbearable. Your sobs are guttural and you feel like you cantw breath. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. WE UNDERSTAND THE PAIN. WE UNDERSTAND THE DEPTH OF LOVE. So please come back and let us help you stand until you can stand on your own. So go ahead and crumble for now, we will carry you.
You have kne task though. Just one for today. Close your eyes and envision a time when Lola made you laugh. Something that she did made you laugh out loud. And when you can, we would love for you to share that treasured moment with us.
Maybe tomorrow you'll be able to come up with two moments where Lola made you laugh...or just smile. . Or maybe a rime when she did something uncharacteristically naughty!
I do hope you'll call our Helpline. 1 844. TRIPAWD. We understand like no others can. We can't take your pain zway, but sometimes just talking with someone can co fort you for a few moments.
Something everyone here will tell you. Your puo WILL connect with you. She WILL make her presence known. Pay attention!
