I think she held on for you too, Sandra, to spend that last precious day with you. I'm glad that she went peacefully and surrounded by love, but my heart goes out to you in your loss.
Big hug,

Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, 20 November 2023, adopted 12 January 2024.
Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...
You did EXACTLY what Vega would want at EXACTLY the right time. As you can see, we all agree that she did "hold on" to give you that last gift of a dog who still has some spark before a crisis woild jave inevitably taken over. She had no fear as she prepared to head onto another dimension of her beautiful Spirit.
She graced you with her presence for such a long time.....and never long enough. I know the thousands of delightful memories you shared will eventually help heal your heart. It's hard to see now because the vpid is so great, but your heart will heal and you will smile at the lovely life you two shared.
I'm glad you and Novak have each other...and you KNOW you always have us right by your side too. It's a sad time right now, but it won't last forever at such intensity. Promise. Please share more of Vega when you can. And, of course, with pictures.
Love, hugs and more love and hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Our baby Zach is suffering from cancer. It has come on all of a sudden. We (Shannon and I) are heartbroken. In my gut I know what has to be done, but it is too soon, too fast . Nothing can prepare you for this. We are to see the vet later this afternoon. He almost hit 16 years. (His birthday is in April). He had a nerve condition that led us to you all and your wonderful community. Becoming a tripawd in 2014 was tough, but Zach was tougher. Cancer sucks!
Cheryl and Shannon, we are so sorry to hear about Zach. You're right, nothing can prepare you, we are never, ever ready to part ways and when things happen so fast it's all that much harder. Please know we are keeping you in our thoughts and hearts.
What an honor it was to meet Zach last year in Virginia. In fact, recently we finally ran the video with you and Zach. See:

There is just something so sweet about senior, grey muzzle dogs like him. Old dogs make us look at how we spend our lives, they remind us to appreciate all that we have in front of us. They make our hearts softer and fill our souls with so many gifts that make us better people. Thank you for sharing your sweet boy's journey with everyone here. Give him extra kisses from all of us OK? And know that we are here for you, always.
P.S. When you are ready, please consider starting a new topic all his own so we can give our love and respects to your sweetie.

"You aren't doing it TO her, you are doing it FOR her. Give her a chance at life."
to everyone here! wow
Im doing ok, usually all day I feel ok and then it hits me again and I feel sad...ups and downs that will fade at some point. My other dogs doesnt seem to know that she left...the dynamic is the same. Novak is a bit more clingy over me but thats it, I think that he just feel that im not happy as usual.
Will make a post about her soon...
My sweet baby has passed on also. So I'm reading other posts now and I share your anguish. It's the same for me and for all those who are here. I believe that those of us that have such a strong bond with our "friends/companions" will experience tremendous joy when we are reunited. Maybe that's heaven!
Take comfort that you are not alone, we are a family here
