Sooo sweeeet🦋🦋 That Boone sure does know how to let you know he's walking right along with you and Tuck😊
Would love to know what he whispers in Tuck's ear as he flits around as yout own personal Butterfly
Such a beautiful picture chock full of meaning. Thank you for this "warm fuzzy" today!
Love to all
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too !
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Oh neat! It's hard to get pics of butterflies when you're walking a dog. Good boy, Tuck!
It's a nice time of year for flowers, we have tons around us right now too.

Sharing some things that made me smile this week.
I signed up for Paint Nite, Paint Your Pet and attended last night. I've never done one of these events and honestly was a little afraid that I'd get super emotional when I saw the sketch of Boone waiting for me to paint. Thankfully, my friend who has literally been by my side throughout this entire journey also attended. We smiled when we saw our sketches.
Everyone around was laughing and chatting happily along as they painted, while my friend and I were hyperfocused and "serious" about the task at hand, talking very little. We joked later that maybe we should have partaken of the wine served at these events ;-).
At any rate, this is how my Boone painting turned out.
It came out fun and funky, kinda like Boone. I'm still planning to commission a local artist to do a "real" portrait of Boone this summer.
And another smile - well laugh - came at 3AM this week when Boone's earthly sidekick, Tuck fell off our bed! The silly boy sleeps with us every night and usually sandwiches himself between us. But the other night, he started out sleeping on the other side of my hubby. Apparently he rolled over into thin air! We heard a "Thud" and realized it was Tuck.
Tuck wasn't injured in the fall (we think he's part Gumby) and he hopped right back up on the bed. And promptly sandwiched himself between us with his head on my pillow 'til the alarm went off.
I guess we're his "human bumpers."
Hope all is well with you and your tripawds this summer!
Hugs,
Jeanette, Angel Boone and Boone's Earthly Sidekick Tuck
Jeanette love love the picture! Such expression in Boone's face. Love the colors! Picture looks to me like it was captured just before Boone turned around and ran to join all our Angels at Rainbow Bridge! LOL at Tuck and the bed. I had to go back and reread how the first two nights went and how you were able to convince him the floor was better than the bed? Yea that didn't last too long did it??? So happy Boone stays so close and sends his signs that he's right there watching over you and happy you opened your hearts up to Tuck who was so obviously sent to you by the Boone Man!

Thank you, Linda 🙂 When I asked the artist that guided us for rainbow colors for the background she said, "seriously?" I just smiled and asked her to load up my paint pallet. I had no idea where I was going with the background but knew I wanted to represent Boone shining from the Bridge.
And yes, Tuck! My gosh, every day there's a sign or sparkle that tells us he was absolutely heaven sent by Boone. We can't imagine our home and lives without him. We think (we hope) he's grown as big as he's going to get - otherwise we'll need to invest in a larger bed.
Oh, and we're on a waiting list for a Rotty baby - Tuck needs a little sister 😉 That may happen towards fall or winter. Stay tuned!
Hugs,
Jeanette
WOW!!! SOOOOO MICH EXCITEMENT GOING ON!!! Tuck may have a sister? That just warms my heart like crazy!!! 🙂 🙂
Yes, I immediately recognized the Rainbow, the babbling vrook, the lush grasses and Boone standing so tall and proid and happy!!
You REALLY did capture his likenexs BEAUTIFULLY!! The sparkle in hks eyes, the colori g in that magnificent mug...what a TREASURE!! 🙂 🙂 You captured the essence of Boone shining ever so brightly from the Bridge! I am absolutely ga-ga over this painting!! PERFECT!! 🙂
And sweet adorable Tuck....bet he stays in the middle with you two from this point forward!! 🙂 Guess his sister will have to snuggle down at your feet since there won't be any pillow room!! I think al.ost every dog has one tumble off the bed before they learn the best sleeping positions to avoid that!! I remember my Happy Hannah had one of those "lessons" and Merry Myrtle did too. Knock on wood, Frankie has avoided that.....guess it's because he tries to sleep on top of me as opposed to beside me!
Looooove hearing about Boone and Tuck...and can't wait for the newbie to arrive!!! PICTURES!!!
Lots of love and hugs

Thank you, Sally (and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!). This continues to be a journey and I'm thankful for your bright light. You always seem to know just what to say :-).
I'm not sure that Tuck thinks he needs a baby sister but we haven't had a Rotty in our lives since we lost Lexi 2 years before Boone. I have a good friend (that's a very reputable breeder) who we got Lexi from and I asked her to put me on her puppy list. We should know by early fall if our four-legged family will grow.
Hugs,
Jeanette
PS - Tuck had his first taste of fast food french fries today. I know, I know...really bad...but he loved them - just like Lexi used to. He also likes ice cream 😉 I figure I offset the occasional bad food with all the good stuff he gets on a regular basis.
HAHA!! I think anynifnus who jave been in this journey CANNOT help but spoil, spoil, spol! And some "junk food" every now and then is the perfect way to do that! Okay, I admit I may be a bit over the top when it comes to spoiling my dogs regardless of "the" journey. And yeah, I "offset" my indulgence with "good food"!!
I love seeing the extra sparkle in a dog's eyes when they get some junk food...because there REALLY is an extra glint of pure bliss in their eyes....and extra slobber dripping from their mouths! 🙂
And I "justify" a scoop of ice cream because it's ORGANIC!! 🙂 Moderation is good. Now, if I could only limit MY intake of junk food.......

Great job! I see that Boone put the artistic inspiration in your soul, you are talented!
Michelle did a painting like that of Sassy, she went to a similar event. I hope she sees this so she'll share.
That crazy Tuck, glad he was OK from that tumble. Aren't puppies a riot? Wish I could bounce back like that whenever I fall!

Our little-big-dog Tuck continues to help us heal (with a little guidance from Angel Boone, I have no doubt).
We treated him to his very own ice cream cone from Micky D's on the Fourth of July and he LOVED it.
It was a beautiful day so we opened the sunroof. As you can see Tuck seems to be a sunroof kinda dog ;-).
Don't worry, I had him on a short leash. I hope he managed to put a smile on the drivers of the oncoming traffic 🙂
I was a bit concerned about fireworks that night. Boone was absolutely terrified of them so my only memories now of fireworks are not at all happy. I was not looking forward to that evening. I guess that's one other plus to living in Alaska, it's light nearly 20 hours a day so the neighbors don't go quite as overboard with summer fireworks.
One neighbor did set a few off close to our home, and thankfully, Tuck snored right through them. So I just practiced some deep breathing so that my anxiety wouldn't transfer over to our sleeping beauty.
I hope you and your fur-kids, tripawds and extra-legged alike, had a relaxing and memorable Fourth!
Hugs,
Jeanette, Angel Boone and Boone's Earthly Sidekick Tuck
P.S. I thought Tuck was going to gain a big sister this week. A 7-year old Rotty was owner-surrendered at our local shelter and was up for adoption. We stopped by the shelter last Saturday to meet her - oh my gosh, what a sweetheart that absolutely did not belong in a shelter. The previous owners stated on the intake form that she was fear aggressive and not good with other dogs. We didn't see any of that when we spent time with her.
I shared her on my FB timeline as well as in a purebred rescue group in the hopes that her forever home was out there. I had errands to run yesterday so I went by the shelter again to see if Demita was still there. Sadly, she was. I asked to spend some time with her again in their yard and talked with a couple other shelter staff about her. They said she was timid with loud noises but warmed up quickly to anyone who spent time with her.
So we talked about bringing Tuck in for a meet 'n greet on Friday.
I even went so far as to apply for the Pets for Patriots program to get pre-approved in anticipation of bringing her home tomorrow.
Well, one of my Rotty friends went to the shelter today to see Demita and I was thrilled to hear that a young couple was adopting her!! My friend talked to them quite a while. She said they were a soft spoken couple that lost their Rotty to cancer, and were just now to a point of healing that they were ready to bring a new dog home. They seemed like a perfect fit for this girl.
It was the BEST news I'd received in a long time.
So Tuck continues to rule the roost, gets rides with the sunroof open and keeps us smiling.
I love reading the uplifting posts and pictures of your Earthly Sidekick TUCK!! Smiles are always GUARANTEED! 🙂
Tuck is very focused on his ice cream cone and has the blissful look on his face that can only come from eating ice cream!! 🙂
Speaking of bliss....Tuck enjoying the sunroof is PRICELESS!!!
Boone knew Tuck needed love and joy in his life and he clearly is very proud of his sweet self that he brought Tuck to you!
I was on the edge of my seat as I read about Demita "possibly" finding a home with you! It's amazing how a dog can be his true self when he's around the right balance of energy. For whatever reason, Demita needed ro be with the couple. Interesting that they just lost a dog also.
I'm glad that your friend got to talk with them and was able to confirm that Demita was going to a good home. I k ow it was a bit disappointing, but also very heartwarming that she went to a good home where she will be loved.
And gosh, it's w0nderful that Tuck wasn't vothered with the fireworks!:-) 🙂 🙂 YAY!!
Love seeing Tuck soooo happy and hearing how much joy he has brought you...And you jave vrought him! 🙂
Lots of love!

This week is 6 months since Boone crossed the Bridge. The time has passed so quickly, yet it feels like we just lost him yesterday.
His earthly sidekick is keeping us entertained, though. I wrote a short post (with lots of little big devil dog pics). Boone is just rolling with laughter at the Bridge, I know, at all of Tuck's antics.
You can see the pics on Boone's blog here: http://badtothe...../6-months/
Hugs from Alaska,

Gonna hop over and see what antics Tuck is up to!
Just want to acknowledge Boone's six month Angleversary at the Bridge. It really is hard ro believe it's been six months. I think because we always feel his presence here, krt makes the time that has lassed as being quite surreal .
Hugs to all
