For me, I also felt "better" when I had her home (ashes). Sure, I cried ike a baby, but I also had a great deal of omfort by having her back home. It also brpught me some peace being able to set up an atea or two in my home where I had her pictures and some special momentos of hers.

I also put some of her ashes in a sot se liked laying in outside and planted a Peony there.

Look forward to seeing Boone's special "celebration corners" and his little garden area. Amazon has some GREAT stepping srones.

Lots of hugs and love to you....And we appreciate you!

I felt better when Isa's ashes were home too, and it was less than a week. I haven't really decided what I want to do with her ashes, some will get spread at the river we both loved so.

Jeanette, I'm so sorry it's taking so long for them to get Boone back to you. I hope its soon! It really does help in a weird way, even if the floodgates open all over again.

BTW (shhhhhh! don't tell anyone) I'm going to meet a furry someone tomorrow! We shall see what we shall see!

Oh, Teri! I bet Isa is sending you someone special :-). Keep us posted. I hadn't at all expected to bring another dog into our lives as soon as we did. But Boone had other plans.

Isa may well have someone picked out for me but this particular gentleman was not it. He found his furrever home on Friday - I couldn't get to the shelter until Saturday.

Isa has someone even better for me on the horizon. in the meantime, still waiting ...

Yeah, I had a few "No, not that one" per Miss Happy Hannah.

When SHE decided who was to be my new partner, that was it! Easy peasy! Silky smooth as snap! 🙂

So yeah, Isa has plans.....this was just a test to see if you were paying attention

I love how Jeanette was so innocently thinking she and hubby would "foster" Tuck for a while! 🙂 Even we knew Boone had this all planned out...and fostering wasn't even an option! 🙂 🙂

Love to all!

Isa most definitely has someone special in mind for you, Teri. BTW - I loved seeing Isa's pic on the tribute forum heart- What a sweet face.

And yes, Sally...Boone did some magic from the Bridge. The last week or so has been really hard for some reason - looks like many of us who have lost a TriPawd are going through something difficult with the change of seasons.

Anyway, my point is I think Boone saw how unhappy I've been lately so he asked his earthly sidekick to do a modified version of the springtime "rock retrieving" that Boone was known for. But Tuck's choice of unusual retrieving objects are the little spruce cones that fall off the trees. I captured him mid-retrieving and zooming Saturday. And I couldn't help but smile.

Watch his video over on Boone's blog - and try not to smile laughing

Bittersweet day...

It was 8 weeks ago today that Boone crossed the Bridge. And today I was finally able to bring him home. Took his earthly sidekick with me because I knew I'd be tearful (that's an understatement).

His ashes are in a colorful polka-dot canister - kind of a happy design - fitting for Boone. Although I'll likely search for something different for him.

I also have a clipping of his hair - all three colors. When Lexi passed two years ago I had some of her hair placed in a glass bone-shaped keychain but am not sure what to do with Boone's. Any suggestions?

Think I'll go walk his earthly sidekick heart

Jeanette, Angel Boone and Boone's Earthly Sidekick Tuck

That is such a big day, it's bittersweet for sure. How nice you had Tuck there to lick your tears.

We keep Jerry's fur clippings in a special little metal container. Not too creative but I like being able to touch it when I want to.

Awww....I know this was a very bittersweet day.

Polka dots Boone? Really? Only Boone would come back home covered in polka dots!

I have Happy Hannah's fur rather unceremoniously taped to the back of a photo of the two of us. I taped a small lock of my hair over her heart on the day she transitioned.

I like the key chain idea you did for your sweet Lexi. Very sweet.

I have a feeling Tuck will be extra snuggly with you tonight..or extra silly!

Extra hugs and love tonightheart

It's been a difficult week, lots of tears out of nowhere.

So today as Tuck and I were on our afternoon walk, a neighbor that saw us when Tuck was still a foster stopped and asked , "So are you going to adopt that dog?" I chuckled and told him Tuck adopted us. He smiled and said, "I knew it. He fits you."

We talked about Boone and how unfair it is when the good dogs are stricken with such a rotten disease.

He ended our conversation about Boone by telling me that Boone was with St. Francis and wasn't suffering.

I think Boone knew I needed to hear that today 🌈💕.

Hugs to you and your fur kids.

Awww....your neighbor's message was certainly guided by Boone. Very sweet. I love all the different wasy and different vechicles our Spirit Angels us to send us a message.

Lots of extra hugs to you. Thise waves of grief will hit you out of the blue for a loooong time....but less and less frequent.

How kind of your neighbor to stop and talk, and bring a bit of comfort to you. Our angel animals definitely know how to time things just right so we feel their presence, and not hurt as much.

Our Jerry passed on 10/3 the day before St. Francis Day. We knew he was in good hands that next day, even though our hearts hurt more than ever. It is a comforting thought to know our pets are with him, isn't it?

I volunteered at our shelter's annual Walk 'n Roll for Animals fundraiser this past Saturday. My friend and I have been volunteering since its inception, helping register participants and handing out goodie bags.

I wasn't going to go this year, afraid I'd be too tearful, but I'm glad I went.

A couple was there with their two Tripawd huskies - one that was adopted after seeing a post right here on tripawds.com 6 years ago! The younger of the two participated in the walk but the older gal (12 years) could only manage a few short hops before lying down. I talked with the owner that stayed behind with the older tripawd and of course, was tearful when she asked to see a picture of Boone. I'm so thankful dog people just understand when you can't talk through tears.

And I'm thankful that Boone keeps sending me reminders that he's with me in spiritheart

Hugs,

Jeanette, Angel Boone & Boone's Earthly Sidekick Tuck
