Just over a year since Paul lost TJ, his first Tripawd, to OSA, he had to let his second OSA Tripawd, Shilo, run for the Bridge.

I haven't seen Paul in the forums much with Shilo, but he has kept up a blog for her called Shilo the Science Dog.

If you feel like it please hop over to his blog and lend some support.

Karen, Thanks for posting this. I cannot imagine! Two members in as many days losing a second pup so soon after the first. My heart is heavy tonight. Thank you for the new name. With all the April losses last year and this April starting out so rough, The name Awful April has come to my mind more than once. April Angels!  Now, That name seems fitting. Hugs, Lori, Ty & Gang

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

April has definitely arrived with a storm of heartbreak.... I definitely prefer April Angels. I feel so bad for Shilo's pack... it is heartbreaking.

So many heros and angels this month!!!

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Thanks for all the kind words.  I have been a bit quiet as my fiancee (Andrea) and I move in and plan a life together... I wanted Shilo t to be a bigger part of that new life.. but in my heart I knew it was time to give Shilo some peace from the cancer.

Andrea was with Shilo and me the whole time... she even wanted to be there when Shilo was euthanized... it really helped having her there.

Since I am all out of tripawds I'll pop in from time to time to see whats up.  One day I expect to read on the the Tripawds site that they have cured canine OS.  I want to be here when that happens smiley

And Paul, when that does happen, it will be because Shilo contributed so much vital information in tne case study at Penn. State!Pretty empowering to know y our dog made such a difference...and she did it with gusto!!

Shilo IS a part of you always...and that means she's a part of you and Andrea as you continue on to your new life together.

You are ALWAYS a member of the tripawd family, as are your four leggers! You are a valued member here and we do look forward to you updating us on how you are doing and how your four leggers are doing.

No one should ever have to endure what we and our dogs and cats do on this journey. No one should EVER have to endure it twice. I'm just so sorry.

Sending you and Andrea lots of love and a peace knowing all is well with Shilo and TJ.

Paul and Andrea,

I'm so sorry for your loss of your precious Shilo...crying.  I will be keeping you in my thoughts while you're finding your way through your grief.

And what an amazing day it will be when a cure for OS and other cancers is found.  Eradicating this awful disease from our fur kids (and humans alike) will be such a blessing.

Hugs
