On February 5, 2009, Timber decided he was ready to move on to his next big adventure. We were able to send him off on a spectacularly gorgeous day with a belly full of pizza, and a promise that we would find each other again in the cosmos. It was one of the most beautiful moments I think we have ever experienced, and although we are completely heart broken, his spirit is so huge and all encompassing, we have no choice but to keep his memory alive in the most positive of capacities. Timber fought a particularly insidious case of OS for the last 9 months, and we cannot imagine having gone through it without Jerry, Rene, Jim, and everyone else here on Tripawds.com. Together, we have shared a very deep and personal part of our lives, which in the very least, leads us one step closer in becoming as wise and as humble as our four-legged counterparts.
All our love,
Erin, Robbie & Timber (in spirit)
Timber's Pawrents,
What a beautiful send off to heaven. I am sure his tripawd family is there to greet him with kisses and wagging tails.
I know how difficult a decision this is to make, deciding when is the best time. In the final act of love for our fur babies it's always best to do what is right for them. You are very brave and I'm sure Timber realizes how much you loved him.
Hugs,
Kim and Buster

Bless you for taking such good care of Timber, and for painting this beautiful picture of her passing. If only everyone could be so strong when that inevitable time comes. Please know that by sharing your story here, others may find solace when faced with the same difficult decisions for their dogs.
Thanks for being part of the tripawds community! You set a great example as strong pack leaders who cope well in the face of adversity – with a smile, and bright outlook even on the darkest days. Jerry and Timber would be proud.

I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to post my deepest condolences and yet let you know how much I admire you for how you sent your baby off to her next journey...I'm at a loss for words to be honest. I only hope and pray that I can mirror your example when the time comes for Me and Zeus.
You are an inspiration and Timber is very proud.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you ~

I second Heather and Zeus's sentiments exactly! And what a beautiful picture of the three of you!
I think when Sophie's time comes to go rock elsewhere, I will return to this post for solace.
We are thinking of you all, and your enduring connections and love.

I so admire your strength and courage. Right to the very end your thoughts were on making everything best for Timber. I'm very sorry for your loss, and very greatful you had the opportunity to share Timber's life.
