Hi all!

Team Shooter has been MIA for awhile, but I always know what is going on in the Tripawd world as is was an important part of life and is about to become that way again, but in a happy way!

We are bringing home a new baby in April! Rocket is a 7 week old Papillon with a deformed front leg. The minute I saw his picture I knew he belonged in our family. The breeder says his is a lover, but can hold his own against his brothers and sisters with 4 legs. We are so excited to meet him. Any and all suggestions for a tiny tripawd are welcome (I don't think he will be much over 8 lbs full grown). He is the little one on the left (don't you just want to snuggle him?!?!)

Hope you are all doing well and look forward to touching bases again!

LUANNE! smiley4 WOWWWEEEE! I'm so happy that you are bringing Rocket into the pack. What a little smushball, I can smell that puppy breath from here!  And those ears! sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2 What a lucky lucky pup! Yes, your pack is a perfect fit for him.

Everypawdy, be sure to check out Luanne's blog all about Shooter. She has been such a long-time supporter, cheerleader, and dear friend of this community! It's a joy to know you'll be here with another 3-legger.

My best suggestion is to start him off with an evaluation from a canine rehab therapist. Being that he's so young, and a front legger, you want to make sure that he has every advantage to stay strong and injury-free for a long, long time. As a young dog, he may have a few extra mobility challenges when it comes to getting his sea legs. A therapist can help you show him good posture, walking, etc., so he develops good strong habits. I know you're not in the most convenient place for canine rehab therapy. But, the good news is that there are now online rehab therapists you can consult with:

Oh my gosh I can't wait to watch him grow up! Please keep us posted and congratulations!!! smiley_clap

Thanks for the advice! There is actually a rehab vet in Bozeman so hopefully I will plan on getting him in and make a plan.
We are excited as his "gotcha" day will be coming up this weekend so more pictures will be coming. In the meantime, I am including a picture the breeder sent last week.

So happy for you and your pack- Rocket has adopted a great family!

But those ears!!! You better get him a weighted harness so he doesn't blow away on windy days smiley4

Oh, and 'the minute I saw his picture' is how Elly joined my pack.  I saw her picture on PetFinder and I knew she would eventually come home with me.
