Thank you, Sally; yes, finally catching up and very grateful for the great ideas and always wonderful support. Got a pawsitive report from the vet this morning and visited after work. Abby was alert, wagging her now-very-bony butt, and pulled me all over looking for the car. Looked to me like she has no intention of checking out soon. HATE having to leave but she had a good day and they want to keep her the weekend and re-do the rays Monday. So will definitely pitch the idea of home care when we have our am call tomorrow. She does have the feeding tube sutured and they have a cath in that last time they had to move due to swelling but doesn't seem to be an issue this time.
Paula, I love the idea of the part-time jobs but even the 1 other being in the house with thumbs (AKA The Retired Guy) racks up a lot of daily couch-time with a kitty or 2 draped over him, and usually both dogs passed out nearby. They're all annoying as hell.
Thanks again for the good thoughts; all are much appreciated.

Oh Liz! I missed your earlier post about Abby. I'm so sorry she is back in the hospital and truly hope that they can work their magic and get her mojo back over the weekend. What a roller coaster indeed. No doubt the whole pack misses her at home.
Sally, I'm glad you're safe from the hurricane. I hope with all my heart that all our members on the East Coast are safe and out of harms way.
Meanwhile folks, I'm going to play Forum cop and respectfully request that we reign in this topic and keep it limited to all things Frankie. That way when someone else is looking for information on dealing with a situation like his, it will be easier for them to follow his pawgress. For everything else you want to chat about, please start a new convo wherever you think is appropriate OK? Thanks for understanding.

Quick correction on prior: Thanks to Jackie for great ideas, to Holly for good thoughts, and agree with Paula...there, bothered me all day. And thanks to Jerry, too, for more good thoughts and getting us back on track.
Sorry for the detour and back to all things Frankie!
