Thanks for the update Sally. Peeing and eating and good vitals are great news. Plus all the healing support coming your way can only help him. I'm sure he will enjoy the chicken you'll be taking him and you can enjoy spoiling and loving on him while he's eating it. Hopefully he'll be back home soon and all this can become a distant memory foe both of you. Love and hugs and much support coming your way!

Sallllleeeeee! I am SO sorry this happened!! But the good news is that you found it so quickly and got him to the vet. I am so glad Frankie is OK and hopefully none the worse for wear (unlike your pocketbook!).
Nopawdy around here has gotten into stuff except Austin. Once it was 4 pot brownies (he couldn't walk but he just slept it off), another time he ate a bunch of raw rice (we imagined it blowing up in his stomach! but it didn't).
Sending you lots of OP love and hopes for no more doggie health issues for a good long time!

Holy moly Batman! We are SO glad he's gonna be alright. WOW. He really gives Wyatt Ray a run for the money.
Pam, you are amazing, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for checking in last night.
Sally, hang in there OK? And sorry you had posting issues last night, not exactly what you needed at a time like that. Admin's on the issue again, still trying to figure it out. Keep us posted.

Sending positive thoughts for Frankie.
I always worry about the meds for the pups that are flavored so they will take them. Of course some pups will eat anything they can get a hold of, even if it doesn't taste good.
Elly came bounding out of my Dad's bedroom the other day with a small bottle full of codeine cough medicine he keeps on a table by his reading chair for use at night if he needs it. Because Elly is small and a rear tripawd I didn't think she could get up in that particular chair, but I was wrong. We have to re calibrate to having a curious puppy in the house again.
I'll be looking for an update on our Frankie boy.

Kathi...too funny! I mean, not really funny, but glad Ollie is able to train Garry tompjt his tings away. Rummaging through Ollie's puke oughta' do it!!
Trina and Sketch..will definitely give him a hug from ya'!
Geez Karen, you've inly had Elly a couple of weeks and she's already showing you she is one smart cookie!
.Martha! LMAO!!! Pot brownies! The visual of Austin is hilarious!! The fact that you didn't eat them all up at once is even funnier!!
Jerry..yep..we're hanging in there! Frankie needs to stop trying to match Wyatt Ray in number of trips to the vet!
Linda! Thanks for your continued supprt. Yep...distant memory sounds good to me!
Anyway, when I went to see Frankie today he did eat some chicken for me. He seemed pretty worn out today though. I spoke with vet about taking him home Sunday...nope want to keep him again and HOPEFULLY he can go home Monday.
He said the plan is to wean him off fluids by Sunday morning (or starting weaning Sun. morn)..see how he does without the fluids...do another blood test Monday. IF all goes well (knocking really hard on wood over here), I'll be able to take him home Monday afternoon a d then still do more test in about a week (or less). I feel very confident that they are doing everything possible...everything in their powere..to ensure he will come out of this okay. Needless to say, Frankie...tripawd Frankie stylin' his Tripawd Harness...has really touched them!
Alrighty, much love to all!!
PS..The extreme Frankie is going to so he wouldn't have to wear his Halloween costume.....amazing!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Thanks Trina..hugs right back to you and Sketch!
Took Frankie off his fuids sometime today. Will spend the night. Blood test tomorrow...guess it wll gauge the liver somewhat to make sure he's not having any immediate issues....yeah, he said immediate...so I'm not sure about what tomorrow holds, much less what the other "tomorrows" look like. We'll know more about the kidneys with further blood tests a liitle bit "later".
Went straight from work to see Frankie so I missed the vet's call that he made this morning. But his message was what I mentioned above. Plus, he said he's doing "pretty well" but he wasn't eating much and woud like to see him eating more.
He asked that I bring him some food he may like. Needless to say I already had that covered when I left the house this morning! His message was, "As much as he woukd like to let him come home today, he just didn't think it was a good idea".
When I sat with him this evening he was EAGER to eat some of the chicken I brought him...and he did..YAY, right?? Not! He threw it right back up instantly and clearly showed signs of nausea after that and wouldn't even look at it! AND he's on anti nausea "something". So I'm pretty bummed..especially since the vet expressed he's. not eating as well as he would like.
He snd I enjoyed our visit though. We were both very happy being in the moment. I think it's actually reassuring and calming for him to be with me. He knows I'm not "dumping" him back at the shelter and he WILL be coming home with me Monday!!!
Dr. Pam, if you see this, I guess you can "read my unwritten questions hidden in the ypdate". Just feeling a little uneasy. Couldnt get the boy to throw up his rotten Rimadyl for hours and hours! But when we want him to keep his good stuff down, he'll have none of that!
Oh, and he had a little scrape on his nose. Apparently it was because he was "hiding" the food they thought he was eating...I guess he was shoving it under the wire. They've got an outta' control Tripawd on their hands!!!
Lotta love to all!!

Thanks for the update Sally, we've been thinking of you and crazy Frankie. I'm sorry he's not home yet but tommorow he will be and he'll be A-OK after this terrible scare. He's a strong, energetic dog with lots of health on his side. I'm glad the vet is looking out for him and being extra cautious though.
We're all thinking of you and sending all our love for a speedy recovery for Frankie. Keep us updated.

Sally, just got on here to check on Myrtle and saw this. Boy, you have had a run of it. I recently went through this with Chandler. He ate an Ambien. 2 goes of peroxide, nothing. Racing trip to emergency vet to puke. Trip back next day. He is fine. I was a raving maniac. Crying, shaking. Sounds like you caught Frankie in time. That boy! He keeps you on your toes. Keep us posted on how he is. Hugs, Lori, Ty & gang
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
Frankie, Frankie, Frankie! You need to get your poop in a group and come home to your Momma and Myrtle. No more puking, you hear? You were supposed to do that right away...not now!
Seriously, Sally, we are keeping the good vibes coming Frankie's way.

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Sally,
I am so sorry you and Frankie are going through this. You must be worried sick about him. I keep waiting for Hank to do something (else)dumb. He has licked linseed oil, swallowed a piece of a toy and pooped it out and eats my wax ear plugs. This teaches me to be more vigilant. I hope Frankie can keep some food down and he gets to come home soon. Hang in there buddy.

PS. Ollie apparently hasn't done his job well enough. Garry came home from elk hunting tonight, tossed his wool pants on the blanket chest, and sat down to supper. All of a sudden we realized Ollie was much too quiet. Oops! Garry is going to have to make a new leather knife sheath for his antler-handled skinning knife. It was on the belt he tossed along with the pants.

Oh Frankie! Maybe he just ate the chicken too fast? He was so happy to get it and to see you that he gobbled it right up!
And we haven't learned either! Max grabbed a small bottle of Excedrine & Motrin & opened it up - the bottle may be child proof, but definitely not dog proof! Thankfully he didn't eat any, he just opened the bottle and left everything there on the floor. ugh!
Kisses to Frankie and you, too!
