Tucker and I are giving two votes for infection....and perhaps she is giving you a hard time for going to Honduras with a purple dinosaur rather than her  :)

Many hugs

Is that a high temp for her?  I usually allow for temps up to 102.5 at our clinic due to excitement.  It sounds like her white cell count was also normal so if this persists I would repeat chest xrays.

Oh Hannah, don't worry us like that.  Did that stinky Barney kiss you and give you something?  He's been around a bit too much to be letting him kiss you.  Take those antibiotics and I bet you are scarfing down steaks in a single bound in no time!  Hug'ems you brawny gal!

Karma, Adelaide and the crew, and our angel Brendol

Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury.  Her amp was on 10/1/12.  She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera.  We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Love your Happy Hannah!! We all know how you feel--I have counted Lily's breaths--obsessed over whether she was breathing too fast...then the panting-worried about that for a long time. I know that when Lily is at the vets that her temp is pretty high-103. I am with everyone else in voting for infection. Come on, Happy Hannah, don't worry us like this-that antibiotic will perk you right up!!

Thinking of you,

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

PAM! Thanks foryour time. The actual blood test was about three weeks ago...prior to discharge from the eyes snd the redness in the whites of the eyes. At that time, the only real concern was how quickly she tires. So the infection could just hsve been starting and maybe not showing up in the blood yet? Maybez? As far as the temp...I think we took that at about the same time, so maybe he had a comparioson in her records...not sure. Again, as far as the other day, he didn't hear any congestion or respiratory distress. Hopefully, the meds will help her feel better...or not...in a matter of days.

KARMA! Ilove all the descriptive names you give my Happy Hannah....well muscles... brawny...perfect!! Yeah, you're right, she has been kissing on Barney! Bring out the penicillin!!

TUCKER! We're likingyour double vote goingon! That practically guaantees an infection wins!! Thanks Tucker!

JOAN and LILY! Oh gosh... the breath counting these last several days...seeing if the breathing is labored...obsessive is right! Thanks for making me feel "normal"!...and thanks for voting!!

CAROL and WILLOW! Hapy Hannah and I sure do feel the love. It is our hope that you, and everyone here knows we're sending it back times a million! Thank you Carol...yeah, her poop does weight a lot!!! Love that as a weight loss explanatin!

KATHI! You are so right...cheering for an infectin is quite nuts...but in the best way and with the best of nitty friendsZ,!

Love to all. I appreciate you more than you coild ever know!

Sounds like infection... that's where my vote goes also.  Happy Hannah I'm thinking you do this for more good food.  I think you eat better than my Mum!  Anyway Bailey had a hard time with that antibiotic because it made her not want to eat or drink and just lethargic... but she was fighting a URI shortly after OS amp.

Keep your ears up and those ribs out... more good food.

HUGS and WELLNESS!

Love,

Tracy and Bailey the Great!

JERRY! Thanks for asking..."possibly" some of the discharge is going away...definitely lessening! YAAY!
Had her first partial dose Tues. night...her two full does Wed. and Thrus....by Sat, night will be four days of full doese and that's when he thought I could see some difference...said it could take longer though.
Still "thinking" I'm seeing the same up and down breathing using her stomach muscles...if that make sense. But she's in NO distress and doesn't seem uncomfortable in anyway.....just enjoying being a very lazy slug..
"Possibly some of the redness in er eyes is diminishing. Of course, as close as she stays to that woodstove, it's a wonder it hasn't burned her eyeballs off! Still low energy, but perfectly cntent lounging around blissfuly happy.!
Eating all meals fine.....just not begging in between or bringing me her food bowl (I know, no biggie, right? It IS a biggie with El Chunko though") I REALLY, REALLY want her to bring me that food bowl!!clap Trust me, I'll post it a gazillion times!

Sorry...didn't mean to ramble....thanks...just thanks.

PUG MAGGIE! Now her vote is a huge vote! This is becoming such a runaway landslide! THANKS Karen!

BAILEY!! CANNOT wait to see more pics of you! Come on MoM! BAILEY THE GREAT votes for infection!! This is really getting to be such a no-brainer, but we'll keep the vote going to be fair to all parties! Ears are up and padded ribs are out over here,!

Happy Hannah and I value each of evsryone so much...

Ramble away (although you aren't), we understand why you're concerned.

Thanks for the update. It does sound like things are stable, which is good. See how it goes, take things day by day and I'll bet in a few days she'll be back to her old chow hound self.

Oh, Sally, try not to worry. She's happy and enjoying life. The antibiotics haven't had a chance to fully work yet, and already you're seeing some improvement. That's a great sign!

Sending loads of love and good thoughts to both of you. Keep updating...

Great update Sally (and yes, I want to see her bring you that bowl too ... that's so funny. Shelby, as hungry, ,hungry hippo as she gets, has never done that - she's not that bright either).

I agree - if she was a little ooky, she might still be resting it off. Think about us when we get a bit sick. Rest always helps. If she will eat and drink and snuggles ... then she's probably doing well.

I think we notice things we didn't notice before - I notice shelby's belly MORE now when she's sleeping (up and down). Her breathing doesn't sound labored but when I get up close to her to listen, she wakes up as if to say "WHAT DO YOU WANT"?!?

I bet you see that bowl in mouth before long!!! Thanks for keeping us updated!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Checking in...how's she doing?

As for glassy eyes, I've noticed that on these wicked cold mornings, Jackson's "eye goobies" are more "gooby" than normal.  The dry air?  It's just in the AM.

Could she be moving more slowly b/c she's cold?  I mean, it is friggin' cold out!

I hope, too, that simple pill solves the problem.  If not, tell her to enjoy some ice cream and perk up.  She's rockin' it and worthy of a pawrty!

~ Katy & Jackson

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Yes, Sally. More updates and MORE PICTURES of Happy Hannah acting like the queen in front of the woodstove. She is just ordering her lady in waiting to bring that filled dish to her! After all, the Queen does not have to ASK. You are just there to cater to her every whim.

Now, Hannah, you know that it is not nice to worry your Mom.

I do chuckle at the description of the "up and down" breathing. Gus has all his life been known as Captain Huffnpuff. If he wasn't doing the up and down breathing, we would be sure there was something wrong with him. At age 12, I dn't think he is going to change.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
