Admin Guy and I have never been ones to take selfies. But years ago before selfies were even a thing, we thought to set up the camera (yeah, a real camera!) to snap this photo with Jerry. It was the last good play session we had together, taken just a couple days before he got his wings. I treasure that photo and the memory.

Honestly I am not one to be in front of the camera. I mostly take the pictures. Until Shari (Dakota's mom) told me to do this I really didn't. Now I have some pictures I truly treasure. 2nd suggestion always back your pictures up either to the cloud or a removable drive so you have them 🙂

Backing up photos is so important! I had a digital camera before I had a phone that took photos. I uploaded them on to my pc (no easy external hard drives or clouds back then). I did have some stuff copied on to a floppy drive and to my dismay the floppy failed. Then my pc crashed never to be succesfully turned on again 🙁
I still have it. It was built sometime around 1995 and probably very unlikely that I would ever be able to get the data from it so it sits in a spare closet. I just cannot get rid of it.
Then there was the first phone that I had. Tripped, fell, and smashed it... oops.
Saving photos is so much easier now thank goodness. I think I have quadruplicates of everything which is a huge hassle but that's ok. Definitely save your photos.

That is such a Happy treasure of Jerry and his hoomans sharing some joy. And the backdrop os beautiful. Jerry really did get to see and frolic in the best Nature has to offer. The scents must have been nirvana for him!

Yes Holly, we know too well about back up and to never trust FUbucket! I just got some notice that Google is goi g to charge for backing g up photos starting June, or they'll disappear.
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Sally you must be out of data on Google. Just make up another google account email for your pictures 🙂

Holly take it to a computer place. My PC just crashed and he did manage to save my pictures because I hadn't gotten them all moved to a hard drive. I have them now all moved but considering having him build me a "cloud" that would back everything up to my own personal every day.

As far as backing up photo files, I use two external harddrives. They each hold 2TB, and were about $50 each. I have copies of all my files on both, and I keep one at my house and the other in my safe deposit box, and just switch them out every 6 months or so.

I have 2 old towers...i mean serious old. The hard drives have pictures that i don't know how to get to. They're like windows 95 or comparable and have been sitting in a closet for decades. I can't find it on my heart to just recycle because i have a small amount of hope that maybe i can retrieve and convert to something that can be read by today's computers.
Life just gets so busy and before you know it years have passed.
Im going to have to find a photo to share here. It'll probably be cheesy but that's ok, lol...I take the world's crappiest photos🤣🤣🤣

OMC I thought I was losing my mind last night, thank you for pointing that out! And for being so understanding Jackie.
Jackie I'm sure some geek can crack open those old towers and retrieve the data for you. What a treasure that would be! Admin and I recently stumbled into old VHS tapes my parents had collected, of us with Jerry. My sister's packrat husband actually has a VCR and we played them a couple of months ago. They are like a gift from beyond, it was such a riot and so fun to watch these scenes we had totally forgotten about.
We keep our photos in the cloud with Apple storage, it's just easier for us because it happens automatically and we don't like the idea of carrying around our only copies in the RV. Plus, data won't ever become obsolete (at least I don't think so), unlike computer hardware, a DVD or VHS tape!

Excellent reminder, Michelle, thank you! I don't have many pictures of Isa and I - one I was looking for must be on the computer at home. But I did find this one - her three-month ampuversary. I'll have to remember to take them with Roxy too - if only she held still better!
