Natalie, I saved this photo of June💝

Yes, a cat can do tricks and has patience for some things🤣

thats the best we can do on one try, and as you can see, Purrkins is not exactly pleased here; a bit disgusted🤭
We are using freeze-dried chicken. And yes, he got many 😁 I'll have to look for something smaller he is allowed to have;)

Awww  Purrkins, you are a very cute kitty trickster master👏👏  And knowing how to sit purity for your treats and holding your perfect head steady…..PURRFECT👏

Juno, I saw your brilliantly done trick on the other post.  You have a lot of discipline cutie.
I’ll see what I can come up with for Frankie and Myrtle.

I can't wait to see Frankie and Myrtle and we will get a different treat to try and Purrfect ours;)

This is what I miss most on the site: some fun mixed in with all the seriousness. Clare (megstamum)  Meg💫  & miss pie💫💔💔💔 were the best at keeping the site a little lighter its needed for some balance when possible.

HAHAHA..... you nailed it Nellie!😎👍 I cannot imagine the amount of training it took to accomplish that outstanding trick!

The way you balanced it so perfectly using your snout to help out...sheer genius.

Hmmm......the wheels are turning now for Frankie and Myrtle`s  "tricks "

OMC! OMD! Purrkins, Nellie - you’re priceless. Looooove this thread!!!

That’s so cool - yes, I can see this balance being sooo necessary amid all the challenges. I imagine there have been many phases and chapters in the community life over the years. Yes - perhaps we can bring back a bit of play! 🎈

Such a good start here , Holly! If anyone wants to join in and doesn’t have the instant skills of Purrkins and Nellie, here are some good resources to train your pet to balance a treat, more food, and objects. See what you can manage! It took us a while to train June to do this, so no worries about perfection! Give it a go!

Juno sees your blue dinosaur, Nellie, and replies with a pink elephant mohawk 💖💖💖:

Thank goodness for the cuteness alert! 😂At least I was able to catch my breath in between the laughter. You two look adorable, clearly twins. 😘Juno does have more freckles in a longer snout than you do, so I guess you aren't identical twins.

The cookie on the head training.  In fairness to Frankie, Blind Merry Myrtle couldn't  `see` me putting the cookie on her head,  Frankie could.

I swear Juno is smiling here👏🏻

AWE, Frankie, you did an EXCELLENT job of getting in the trash. We can't beat that😁 I'm not showing Purrkins either;) Oh, Sally, have fun cleaning. I HOPE Frankie doesn't get a belly ache. WyattRay must be whispering in his ear;)

YAY MYRTLE👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Sally, I got the giggles. Good boy, Frankie, for sitting so nicely and not eating Myrtles🤣 Purrkins did the same as Frankie Minus, the so-excited tail wag, Too cute. I put one treat on my leg for Purrkins to distract him, and then I put one on his head🤣 So good to hear and see Frankie and Myrtle been furever 💝💝💝

All EXCELLENT 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🏆🏆🏆

Excellent links; we will have to read and see what else we can learn;) Purrkins is not a typical kitty by any means;)

OK is this community full of talent or what?

Juno, I don't know how Nellie is going to top that trick. You asked for it. Watch for a stuffie throw down! And hey she might just start balancing a steak on her head with those awesome links your mama shared (thank you Natalie!0.

As for YOU, Frankie, what TALENT you have for not only getting in the trash but redecorating with it too. Wyatt NEVER did that, he was too eager to eat the trash instead. GOOD BOY FRANKIE! You are an eco-groovy canine with your recycling skills.

Myrtle you are pretty dang talented, too I'm impressed! Seriously, that's not an easy thing for a vision-impaired dog to do. You can probably balance a whole box of biscuits on that snout of yours huh? smiley16

And Purrkins, wow! Look at you all confident balancing your little mouse toy. You look so relaxed like you've been doing this all your life!

Good boy Frankie!!! Such talent, such decorating skills. So daring, so avant garde! Hounds, always pushing the envelope (sometimes literally!!) 💥

And awesome first pass on the biscuit task Myrtle and Frankie. No dog comes out of the box with this skill, but they do come out of the box ready to eat!! icon_lolsmiley_clap

I swear Juno is smiling here👏🏻

Holly - Yes! That is our June’s sweet smile you’ve spotted. She doesn’t really do the open mouthed toothy grin that some dogs do - she’s more a Mona Lisa kind of girl.

And Purrkins! What talent, what panache my friend! Brilliant work.

OK is this community full of talent or what?

@jerry - totally!!!

You asked for it. Watch for a stuffie throw down! And hey she might just start balancing a steak on her head...

Bring it!!!! I’m bracing for a cuteness onslaught!!!! sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2

Re: hounds and garbage, Sally. Permit me a story from Juno’s early years with us? I’m not sure if it’s a talent, but it still amuses me:

We call Juno our little bowerbird because in her early days with us she took to raiding the upstairs bathroom trash (luckily its contents were pretty mundane) and laying out the pilfered bits one piece at a time in a careful configuration on the living room floor.

I watched her do it the first time, as she placed with intention and delicacy a cardboard toilet paper roll and a toothpaste box along with five or so other things at key points on the carpet. It looked utterly random, but she did it with the seeming precision of a crop circle.

We’ve since cut off her access to trash, but she’ll still do this with choice bits of stinky laundry from the basket. And once when we neglected to walk her (I can’t remember why) she vented her stir-crazy energy by rushing each of her toys to the backyard to map out what I can only imagine was some kind of SOS message.

Alrightee, here's a short clip of Nellie's favorite weekly trick, popcorn catching!

We tend to have popcorn on Saturdays. She gets so excited when she hears it popping.
