So there is a bike trailer that converts to a stroller on Amazon, but some of the reviews say it comes off the bike easily. TYikes! Plus it looks just so darn big! The stroller recommended here looks much better(although doesn't look like it converts to a bike trailer)..All other ones on Amazon that are large are way too expensive..Any advice? I wouldn't mind getting a medium, size wise, but they say they hold up to 50 lbs and Happy is 65.  Maybe there's a site I am missing with more options..

I notice the two awesome swim harnesses are discontinued..I may be able to find one around Austin as I have seen the Ruff Wear stuff at a couple of locations(but not the swim vest so far). We are ready to get out more and hit the town and swimming holes!

Have you seen the Dog Strollers and Bike Trailers in the Tripawds Amazon and Gear blogs?

Affordable Dog Stroller Bike Trailer for Big Dogs

Strollers Help Dogs Large and Small Get Out

We've heard good things about the Solvit Houndabout, also available on Amazon. Modern Dog's contest has ended, but The Croozer Dog Stroller Bike Trailer looks pretty pawesome for smaller dogs.

We hope when shopping at Amazon you will please consider starting your search here to help support our efforts to keep this community online.

If you don't plan on swimming soon, the new and improved Ruff Wear float coats will be available April 1st. No foolin'!

I did some research on large dog strollers and ended up picking the Doggyride.  You can get a bike hitch for pulling it behind the bike, too.  The Doggyrides are quite expensive (bought Daisy's on Amazon for $318.99-free shipping).  The reviews for it were good versus some of the other brands.  There's not really too many options when looking for large dog strollers .  I've only had it a couple weeks but am quite happy with the quality.

Good luck with your search!

Oh and I purchased it thru the Amazon link here on Tripawds.  I looked at the Solvit Hound-a-bout because it was cheaper with good reviews .  I've always been happy with the Drs. Foster and Smith products but during my search it said it was discontinued (that was the large dog stroller ).  They still have the bike one.

We ended up with the Doggie Ride as well, and we love it.  It's sturdy, well-made, easy to steer, and collapses easily for storage.  You can also take the wheels off and use it for a soft-sided kennel, too.

The only issue I've had with it, is that we live in a very hilly area, and my dogs are BIG.  Going downhill can be scary, and it would be so nice if there were a hand-brake for times like that.  Other than that, I would whole-heartedly recommend this brand.

Check out Rio's Ride...

I purchased a Doggyride for my tripawd Maggie.  It was the largest I could find and it's still a tad too small for her -she's pretty scrunched up in it.  I have, however, used it a lot when my quadpawd had a shoulder injury and couldn't walk far..she thought it was a hoot laughinglaughing

I used it both as a stroller and also hooked to my bike.  Very well made.  My only complaint as it's really too small IMO for a large dog of Maggie's size.

Thanks! I went ahead and ordered the Solvit, as well as the kit to convert it to a stroller(although the kit didn't have rave reviews)..I liked the Doggie Ride style but the Solvit was cheaper..They all look huge to me and I may need to get something other than a vintage commuter bike to control it! lol. Also, waiting till April 1 to get a swimming harness!
