Now if any of you think you have a spoiled animal, compare it to this story and then reconsider. And the older she gets, the more vocal she gets about what she wants.

My pugs have always been very into routines, especially Maggie. They know what time it is, and when feeding time is.  One of Tani's medical issues requires blood tests every 6 months, and the particular blood test requires fasting, but she still gets her pill.  So the morning routine used to be (back when Maggie would eat) give Tani her pill, then feed breakfast.  Maggie would always sit in her spot on the rug by the sink while I made their food, Tani would run around and play with a toy until breakfast was ready.

So on the fasting day we all get up and go into the kitchen.  Mag sits in her breakfast spot and I give Tani her pill.  Tani runs off to get a toy, and I tell Mag "that's it!".    One of Tani's endearing qualities is that you can distract her from almost anything if you play with her.  So I go to the living room to play with Tani and call Mag to come with us, but Mag will not move from her spot.  Tani and I play for awhile, and I keep calling Mag to come into the living room.  After about 10 or 15 min she moves from her spot in the kitchen to the rug under the dining room table where she can see us in the living room, but she sits down with her back to us!!  So now I'm laughing at her, still calling her to come over, and still playing with Tani.  Mag sits with her back to us for another 10 min or so until I finally wear Tani out.  I get up off the floor and go over to Mag- she looks up at me- I reach down to pet her and she moves away!

I am still trying to figure out how you get a dog (3 dogs, actually) and a cat (2 cats) NOT to eat things like green beans. All 5 of my animals will eat anything - to the point that we hide food from the cats in the microwave, oven, toaster oven and the cupboards. We also have to put a baby proof latch on the pantry, so they can't let them selves in!

Our big guy was spoiled. He knew we felt sorry for him being sick, and he played it up. Some days this meant spending an hour tossing each one of his kibbles in the air like 'cookies' for him to catch. Other days it meant strategically tucking cat food through out his kibble so he couldn't just eat the kibble.  Some days the cats got to eat tuna, so he could have the juice on his food.

One week, we'd fed him so many table scraps just trying to get him to eat - he hadn't touched his bowl of food in days. He'd sniff it, hang his head and lay down. I pleaded and begged with him, tried every trick in the book and resorted to feeding him steak and peanut butter and the likes. We always fed him in the garage so Coda wouldn't eat his food, this is where we also kept the food bags. Coda, our beagle was on another round of rice and meds (for eating something she shouldn't) so we hadn't fed her food in a week, and the cats had some food inside in a container. Well, I went to feed Coda when she was back on food - her bag of food was nearly empty, his bag of food was nearly empty and so was the cats bag of food!

The little goober had been feeding himself when we'd leave him out to eat! But he pulled the 'I'm starving act" complete with shaking and shivering, every time we'd gone out to bring him in after. I thought for sure he was nearing the end that week - sneaky old man! He knew how to get spoiled - and it always worked.

Yes, Bob insists Trouble plays me like a drum.  He says she isn't nearly as bad off as she makes me believe.  And, he's probably right!

A vegetarian dog, I never imagined a dog eating green beans, how did you discover that!! I have been around cows my whole life, my neighbor just told me they give their sons cow marshmallows and peppermint candies, who'da thunk THAT. I have been wrapping Gus' pills in luchmeat, which he never got before, then he gets Chop house or Filet mignon canned dog food right away after, which he never used to get,  all he has to do is hear me open the frig door and rattle the bottles and he is about juming on the counter to get them, not to spoiled!!!!

Marshmallows and peppermint candies for a cow? I'm not sure if I'm more shocked that the cow actually eats it, or that someone thought to try it in the first place, LOL.

Before you know it, the schools will offer prune juice for lunch and all students will have to have a colonoscopy before their freshman year!!!!

When I went for my physical this year, my doctor told me she found some funny cocktail napkins... they said "Look who's all grown up and ready for a colonoscopy?"  I'm thinking we can use them at our big tripawds birthday bash for all of us entering that next decade.  way-cool

And as for the math tests... why do you think I post in the mornings?  too tough to think after 5pm! bwahahahaha

Just saw Maggie's banner - it is awesome.  Just wanted to say what a wonderful way this is to honor our tripawds and keep the angel hero's alive.  Thank you Jim & Rene.

When my wife turned 50 one of her bosses said this was the time for her to have a colonoscopy, I told him I thought that since I didn't know what to get her maybe I would get her a gift certificate for one, he shot that down!!!!
