Diane and Magic,
Good luck with the kitty search. Adding a kitty to the family sure helped Wolfie, Jake's brother, when Jake passed. My cat doesn't really act like our remaining dogs exist but she hated Emily! Even with three legs and the beginning of spinal mets Emily would chase Lexi out of the room. Hopefully Magic will be friendlier.

Hey, changing my graduation year...now that's one I NEVER thought of...
and the "away place" I refuse to tell you how many of those I have...most people have a junk drawer or two...I have a "every drawer is a junk drawer" house....and stuff is in layers...when I can't find something and go buy it, I can be pretty sure there are three others of "whatever" ....someplace...in one of the away places...maybe
now I need to go find out if I am five years younger than I thought...and I DON'T DARE get shorter...I'm already too short for my weight
Magic always liked our kitties...and when we would walk (back in the quadpawd days), all the kitties in our area apparently have death wishes because completely strange cats would come up to Magic...the first time it happened I almost dropped my jaw on the sidewalk...big orange cat ran across the street, came right up to him and touched noses...we never saw that one again (maybe bad decision making?), another we used to see regularly then he disappeared about a year ago and Magic would stop every time we took that route (we had various routes we hit maybe two to three times a week on each one) at the house where the kitty had been and wait and look...there was another two kitties who came up and threw themselves on the ground, belly up and wiggled right under his big head and large teeth...
I am assuming with the more laid back energy level, this should go well...oh boy I hope it isn't one of those bad assumptions!!!! and OJ used to lay with Magic so I am hoping all the kitty exposure he has had (well none for the last couple of weeks...I won't share my stuffed kitty with him because I fear it would become unstuffed) this will be just an extension of that!! Although Sophie's kitty brother (also named Wolfie) pretty much runs the dogs!!
That being five years younger might be a great thing in some ways, I always thought you looked younger than you were anyhow!!! but that means 5 more years until you can start collecting retirement, .......ugh... that makes my back hurt even more. Drawers are to small, use boxes. And from a guys perspective, use the philosophy that even if you don't need or use it now, you'll have it when you do!!!, inventory management.
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
if being five years younger meant I was no longer retired...I'LL TAKE THE AGE! I can't imagine how all of you who are working MANAGE with your sick furkids. It seems like my time for the last at least three months (up to two weeks ago) was nothing but shots, pills, sub Q fluids, more pills, vet visits, pills, shots, and on and on for both Magic and OJ....I don't know where I would have been able to fit in my job frankly....and of course OJ has been on all kind of med stuff for the last four years but when Magic got sick it became an all day thing.
Boxes...GOOD IDEA...oh oh, I'll need a bigger storage place won't I...
anyone want a miniature house? If I moved that out I would have quite a large area in a bedroom...big miniature house...lots of miniature STUFF...all in BOXES!!!!

I have a friend on Facebook that used to have her 1987 graduation year up but has taken it down recently. I won't mention any names as to not embarrass her.
(all I'll say is she had a dog named Jerry)

Actually, I think my diminishing height might be a clue. Most of my life I'm sure I was 5'9" until they measured my height a few years ago at an annual checkup and wrote down I was 5'8".
OMG! I was thinking this last night! I'm a 5' 9"er, too (okay it's was actually 5'8 3/4), and an old girlfriend of mine was in town last night and when I was walking beside her, I was thinking to myself- I thought I was way taller than she was and now I don't feel like I am, "Have I shrunk?"
Gots to ask…in highschool did you asked out on any dates because of your height? I did NOT except for older boys out of school! It took me many, many, many years to appreciate being tall because I felt like an amazon! My arms are longer than some guys!
Diane, not kitty talk just yet! Your plate is full, my friend.
But junk drawers, bin, closets, garage... - I hear ya! I hate when I find 3 of something I just went out and bought! I'm glad I keep track of the dogs!

Being tall was a definite turn-off for guys. In my memory I absolutely towered over all them so I developed this even more unattractive hunch to appear shorter. Didn't help. On top of being tall and gangly and pimply and socially awkward and hunchbacked and having to wear clothes my mom sewed for me, I would have been a shoo-in for winning the Wallflower Pageant.
Man, I'm relieved now to have a name for that safe AWAY place. Wherever it is it contains quite a lot of treasures. In the meantime, when I can't find whatever I'm looking for after a while I just go out and buy new stuff. Naturally, I put those items in the away place too. It never ends.

If I have a choice between the 5 years and retirement, at this point I have to take retirement. Work just isn't fun anymore. Companies are so super money concious, nothing you do is good enough, they don't want to pay for what you really do, they want everyone to do 3 jobs and do all of them flawlessly, they don't want to train anyone, and they wonder why you have a pissy attitude. Go figure!
I'm hoping to make it one more year, but I'm certainly not banking on it at this point.

ME TOO! We have so much in common INCLUDING our love of weather! (Yeah, I'm a weather freaktoid, too!) I call up family in Texas and/or Oklahoma and tell them I see a tornado vortex on the radar at weatherunderground.com.
I don't know if you get US The Weather channel - and if you did, do you remember this tornado last year? It was in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. I grew up in Lone Grove and the tornado hit about 1 mile from my old house.
Give me a ramble topic and - oh my! Watch me ramble!

Long arms mean bigger hugs......woo-hoo....I'll bet there are a ton of girls that would LOVE to be 5'9 these days, look at how tall the models of today are. Holy moly, I just thought of something, I'm flirting with a bunch of models with three legged dogs, man I love this club, does that give me and Gus an advantage, he's ALWAYS in the market. Ladies, tell your female dogs Gus has the best hop they will ever see!!!!!

Gee. Nice to know we share that too. 🙂 Long armed, shrinking, hunching weather freaktoids.
Sweet.

Message about Gus duly noted and passed on to Catie. She's never showed romantic inclinations before - I think that's because her bro Riley kept trying to hump her (and yes, they're both neutered/spayed) - but if Gus is as good a hopper as you say he is, you never know.

I'm thinking maybe Gus and Riley believe all that licking has restorative powers.
