Mattie and I have been members for a while. I know we haven't posted much.
We were wondering if it was just our reaction or if anyone else experiences the same reaction...
When reading a post by mom2shelby, does anyone else hear "LA Woman" by "The Doors" going through their head?
She's rockin' those oh-so-awesome Elton John-style sunglasses in her avatar (love me some Elton John), in Cali, with her bea Shelby...what could be better?
For us (Mattie & Me) it happens every time we see a post from her and Shelby...
"LA Woman!!!!!!"
Love it!!!!!
Just curious? Me? Nah? Non?
Para mi, es la verdad en efecto.
Well, I don't know that song, but I can say that Alison is most definitely an amazing, and wonderful a person that you will ever meet !! Her continual presence here is one of the huge bright spots of this great community, and I personally hope she stays here for a long time to come, to help so many others just starting this journey. She and Sally, and several others ALWAYS have the perfect words to help anyone through anything they are dealing with.....this community is so much better having them here.
Bonnie, Angel Polly, and new crew
TOOO FUNNY!!! Fun post!
Great question!! I think I usually hear "California Dreaming" and "Margaritaville"...
Yes, the avatar picture of those two..priceless! Best buds forever!
And Miss Bonnie...right back atcha' kiddo...times a million!
Love!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Totally! I mean she's a classic L.A. woman, even though she's from Seattle! I could never pull of that kind of glamour, she, Shelby and now Jasper are the real deal.
Ditto Bonnie & Sally.
ALLLIIISSSSOOOOOON where are youuuuuu????

She's probably at the beach.....
Kathi
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
OMG... all this LOVE so early on a Saturday!!!! My heart is full .... truly full and blessed to have ALL you as my dearest friends... thank you sooooooo much!
I am glad that me and Spirit Shelby (and little Jasper) can continue to bring joy, smiles and hope to this amazing community... without it, I would have been lost...
And yup, the shades, the sun, the love of my life ... those were our signature poses! I do know that song "LA Woman" and it FITS. Even though I'm a Seattle girl... I think a part of me was meant to live in LA by the beach... where yes, we are headed today... going to take little Jasper to Shelby's favorite beach and see how she likes it!
Thank you all for such a loving thread!!! XOXOOX = to the moon and back!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
A follow up post here...
Definitely agree that Alison, Sally & Bonnie are all very responsive, devoted and treasured members in this community. All are typically one of the first to reply to anyone posting questions or problems and are all quick to provide emotional support in any time of joy, grief or trouble. I know Mattie & I have always been comforted, reassured and inspired by their posts.
After re-reading my post this morning, I felt like I needed to clarify that I made that post in the most appreciable and admirable context. I thought maybe the words of the initial post were not indicative of that as written, so I wanted to clarify that here. Anytime I hear about Los Angeles I think of a very hectic, busy city which I could never adapt to. It is always a nice contrast to think of Alison and how relaxed and casual she is, replete with sunglasses and wine, and her inspirational stories and messages.
Alison and all the others here have been a tremendous support to Mattie and me as we progress through what initially seemed like an insurmountable journey.
PS - Sally: I hadn't heard of that Mamas & Papas song before. Listened to it a few times this morning. It is a good one!!
This is what I LOVE about this community! The connection! I cannot see Sally or Alison's posts now without thinking of Neil Diamond.LOL We should all load up for a road trip and go see what LA is all about. Could you imagine Alison's face if we all showed up at her door? It would be priceless. Seriously, the friendships I have built here with people I have never met in person ( that will be rectified with a few in about a month at the pawty) are very precious to me. We have been bonded by a journey that not one of us wanted to be on, yet we built something good out of it. Our pups would be proud! Thank you Jerry! Thank you everyone who is a part of this wonderful community. Lori, Ty & the Gang

BTW, I now have the song LA Woman stuck in my head. LOL

As you can see, everyone LOVED your post Bob! Your fun context was completely understood and appreciated!
And I agree Lpri...maybe we should all plan a "road trip" to California!!! Yes Lori, the friendships formed are so pure, so loving. Together we are all truly a powerful force of perseverance.
Here's another song for us to losten to...AND...losten to the Neil Diamond version...."Red, Red Wine"...and think of our very own LA Alison, wo we all lpvr so dearly!!!
Hugs to BABY DOLL and Nana and Bob too!

Oh I totally understood the fun and love around it!!! LA is a "chew you up and spit you out" kind of town! Definitely keeping some "Red Red Wine" close to me to keep me zen and sane!
If you all ever showed up at our tiny apt, we would LOVE IT!!!!
I would like to ditto what Lori said ... these friendships mean the world to me. ... strangers brought together by a common bond and a bond that doesn't end when our pets pass... I will come back here as long as I am able and offer any love and support that I can because I know how much it helped me. Even if I didn't have or get the answers ... just knowing I wasn't alone made it all better.
MUCH LOVE!!! I am so blessed!
