410 - Now I have to go vote for Barrett

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.

Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.

411 :)

Valerian herb toy? Is she anxious about something?

Barret was diagnosed with Hemangiopericytoma May 16, 2013. Front left leg/scapula/pectoral muscle was amputated on June 11, 2013 and we've never looked back. Follow our story on http://barret.t.....pawds.com/ and read my column on That Pet Blog

415! It worked this morning.

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

OK, I read something online that valerian has the opposite effect on cats than it does on humans.  Apparently they LOVE it, it has the same effect as catnip does.  From petMD:

Valerian

This pungent herb is best known for helping people to relax and get a good night’s sleep. Not so for Mr. Whiskers. Valerian works as a stimulant on cats; good for transforming lazy, fat cats into exercise machines. Pair this with the fact that cats actually like eating the plant and you’ve got the perfect formula for a healthy, furry feline

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Ahhhh, That's very interesting. I never knew that... I sense an addition to my recent post about little known cat facts.

Did it work on Brudda, too or just Jill? For some reason I always want to call her Jilly Bean, do you ever call her that? LOL

nope, Brudda, the one I bought the toy for (hence: good for transforming lazy, fat cats into exercise machines) has zero interest in it!

Yep, I call her Jilly Bean all the time :) ....sometimes just "the bean" :)

Going to read your article now!!  Here's the full article from petmd about herbs and cats:

426. No white stuff yet, please, Linda. We want to get the trailer out for one more week before we have to shut down until spring.
