This is the incredible thing about this site.  I went from, literally, crying in sadness over Elizabeth's post to laughing so hard at these pictures that I have tears streaming down my face.  Thank you for this - we need this humor.

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

OMD, those pictures are hysterical. Melanie does indeed look ready for action! SB Sam looks ... a little unsure.

Too cute.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

I, too, thank you for the humor. It is so sorely needed on this site.

I do have a question, though. We are getting a puppy in the spring, so I need to know: What is the difference between monkeydogs and monkeybutts? I not sure, but I think Wrigley (we already have a name because we are not excited or anything) is going to be a monkeybutt.

Will he have to go through training?

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.

We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.

oh soon to be monkeydog, wrigley of peoria, illinois (yes, the 'S' is silent)....we quad-pawd are all monkeydogs...our fearless leader, (MBBVP - monkeybuttbunnyvampirepirate) is the supreme monkeybutt.  he lights our way and is all powerful..  as monkeydogs, it is our duty to pester the 'attention getters' tripawds, and even our angel tripawds (a little), we are the spreaders of light-heartedness and quad-pawd joyclown.  welcome wrigley of the springtime!!!

Oh! Oh! Oh!   I'm doing the high jump on the back of sofa, I'm so happy!!!!!!   My monkeydog pals/cousins in the Greater East Tennessee area are prepared and ready for action!

You guys look better than a Spartan in your Monkeydog helmet!  The Tripawds are shuttering in fear…..just like the Persians!  (Hey! I watch the history channel when nothing else is on! And not just Pawn Stars!  Sheesh.)

Sorry about the sizing mix-up F. Mel – your head looked ginormous in the pics!  "Ginormous" in a good way….the, "there's more to love" ginormous way!

And S.B. – don't listen to anyone!  You look ready for "action"!   Is that a cocked eyebrow?!

I'd post my picture but daddy was tickling me and I was laughing – not a good look for the dear leader of the Monkeydog Federation.

And now Mommy has hidden my Monkeydog helmet because I got a 'tude….that and I pulled an eyeball out of it.

Let's chant in unison!

ALL HAIL MONKEYDOGS!

P.S.  Yes, any dog  or cat can join our Federation!  We, unlike stoopid tripawds do not require you to remove a leg!

The Tripawd Warrior Princesses have kept these Monkeybutts in line for a really long time, but now that a lot of us have recently become invisible, the Monkeybutts are getting a bit big for their britches... Come on girls! You beautiful TWPs!!! Step up and keep these Monkey-insurgents in line!

Tripawd Warrior Princesses Rock!!! And you Monkeydogs only wish you were this cool!!!
