She is my girl as of Tuesday, a 9 week old cattle dog/rat terrier/border collie mix.

I want you all to know that puppies are hard work.  It has been almost 10 years since I did puppy duty (doodie) and I have forgotten how challenging it can be!  I gave her a happy name "Golly" and my hope is she will have a wonderfully happy life.  I will do everything in my power to make it so.  Please also know that I know nothing in this world will replace my love for Sammy.  I feel he walks with me always, and can't wait for the day that I get to kiss his beautiful face again.  Until then, I will keep trying to love and always will be in the company of dogs.  I think other than some wonderful people I have met along the way, Dogs are the best!

Elizabeth, Sammys mom, Golly and Titans too.

Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in the right front leg 8/23/10,

leg fractured 8/27/10,

leg amputated 8/30/10

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

Oh Elizabeth! How can such adorableness with such a long lineage come in such a small package!!

I feel a song coming on.....I SAID HELLO GOLLY, WELL HELLO GOLLY!! Something about "find her a lap fellas" (I was never any good at remembering lyrics)

Is Golly a Monkeybutt or is it too early to tell? We need to ramp up our northwest division!

Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.
Do you have what it takes to be a Monkeybutt? Find out more at the Monkeybutt Federation

lol 😀  She is a really smart girl too.  Day 3 and she has "sit" down pat, pretty comfortable with lay down, and off.  Did I tell you that she smiles?  It is more of a grin, but her lips curl up and she looks happy 🙂

Congrats Elizabeth!!

The loss of our pups leaves a huge hole in our hearts, I have found a great way to help that hole heal is to offer a home to another deserving pup!

But I must say- you are really crazy for taking on a puppy laughinglaughinglaughinglaughinglaughinglaughinglaughinglaughinglaughing

I was just thinking the other day that it has been almost 13 years since I did puppy patrol- I don't know if I could handle it.  The 4 year old Obie was a handful!

Golly is a cutie and looks hilarious standing next to Titan!  How does he like her?

He isn't sure of her.  The first day was great, lots of lying around together and bonding.  Day two showed us he is a little jealous.  Lots of extra hugs and kisses for him on day 3 and it seems to be working.  He is showing her where to go potty and how to get treats by doing extra good stuff.

Here is a video I just found on youtube.

I am really hoping to do agility with her and bond that way.  This video is wonderful, the parents of this girl Dylan never gave up hope.  She eventually succumbed to cancer, but she was a wonderful example of dog.

Fixed it Elizabeth. All you need to do to post a video is paste the URL while you're writing the post. It should just have the http:// and the URL after it, no other formatting or characters after the video location (youtu.be/vQxDLeIXHss)

Well congrats on the new pup! I think it's terrific. But I agree…puppies are WORK! Wyatt Ray was work enough for us and he was 8 months old!

She is just adorable, I love her mask.

I think Golly's great, and I think she and Titan will make a photogenic pair when she's full-grown! Kind of like Mutt and Jeff. There are so many in need, as we all know, so it's wonderful that you went ahead and made the leap to open your heart and home again. She's not a replacement; she's an enhancement!

we have done the puppy thing three times in the last four years and it doesn't get any easier they just think of new ways to get into trouble!!! Good luck!!  big-grin

Congrats Elizabeth she is adorable. Well done for opening your heart up to another bundle of joy. Sammy will always be a part of you no matter what, a new addition just lets your heart get bigger and another chance to share that love you have, and that has to be a good thing!

Congratulations Elizabeth!!! I'm so excited for you! And yes, puppies are a lot of work!!! Zeffy was nearly six years ago, and she was a handful! It's better when they have a big brother or sister to help show them the ropes!

I think you're wonderful for opening your home and your heart to another puppy. There will never be another Sammy, but giving another puppy a shot at a wonderful life is such a fabulous way to honor his memory. Can't wait to meet the new little sweetie when we have our Seattle meet-up.
