Live Chat and much more!
The last few nights I've been in the chat room with way too much time on my hands, and the same group keeps showing up and encouraging me. We've been trying to decide what kind of dog we would be if we were dogs, based on our personalities. So I ask you all: What kind of dog would you be? Not what you want to be, but what your personality matches.
Here are some examples: One of our chat friends is a bit ADHD; we think she is an Irish Setter. We believe that Jerry's alter-ego, enthusiastic and a tad hyper yet focused, would really be a border collie. Another chat friend is fun, friendly and very concerned about the well being of everyone. She's a Great Dane. I think I may be a giant schnauzer, much as I hate to say it.
So please, don't be shy. Tell us what you are!
Shari
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

After further research, I am not a Giant Schnauzer. I am a Great Pyrenees. Either way, I need a big hairbrush.

I've been thinking and will need to continue.... for now, the breed has got to be intelligent, loves the outdoors (both being active and also knows how to relax in the sun and sweet air), and can function well on its own (not a total lap dog). Hmmmm. Maybe I'll have to go the mutt route. After all, Jackson is a mutt and he's pretty awesome!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
oh boy oh boy I've been waiting for this post! I am the Irish Setter Shari speaks of
HOWEVER, I've taken a few google quizzes online (just type into google, "what dog breed am I") and have gotten Beagle a few times.........here is the description, I think this is sort of right on the money!
The Beagle is merry, friendly, gentle, playful. He loves his food and will eat until he bursts if allowed to. He can be quite ingenious in coming up with ways to get to the food in the cupboard, in the bin or on the table!
that's me all right I LOVE ME MY FOOD!!!!!!!!
I don't know if beagles are a bit ADHD? anyone ever had a beagle?
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Erica! How about a Beagle mixed with an Irish setter??
I Googled and here is me (I'm not upset that I'll fall off the catwalk!):

The Caretaker
Your family is what makes you tick, and you never "flea" from an opportunity to hang out with the whole gang. A family picnic complete with hot dogs, deviled eggs and a refreshing swim in the lake is hard for you to stray from. Your sparky temperament and dogged intelligence mean you are not only a blast to hang out with, but great to work with as well. Your close pals appreciate your patience and forgiveness, knowing you'd rather let sleeping dogs lie than dwell on the mishaps of the past. Your dashing good looks may one day lead to a modelling career, if only you can tame the unfortunate clumsiness that sometimes causes you to go flailing from the catwalk. Learn more »

May I request that I instead be a Lab mixed with Huskie? The intelligence, the looks, the commanding presence, and activity level PLUS the vocal skills!!!

I'm thinking I need to drop in at the chat room more often. You guys are having all the fun. Shari, you could message me on FB when you're there, my messages come to my phone so I would likely see it. I have been trying to devote less time to the computer, but a few extra minutes interacting wouldn't be counterproductive.
Must go off and think about what kind of dog I am.

I don't think so! You move around. Your preferred activity is not to sit on the couch all day. Maybe some kind of bulldog cross. Seriously?

That is too funny! I seriously doubt it, though!!!

It keeps telling me I'm a lab but I know I'm not. The questions don't have the right answers for me.
For instance, about the Halloween party--I wouldn't go. I don't do parties. Too many people.
And what song would I play over and over? If I had to play one of those repeatedly I'd probably shoot myself.
I need different questions. Where the answers can be "margarita," "banana," "if I have to," and "can't I just read for awhile instead?" You know, for the antisocial crowd. Ha ha! I made a funny. Antisocial crowd!

I am feeling a bit "herded" around here! That is too funny.
Dakota Dawg, I'm with you, too. I don't enjoy Halloween parties and none of those songs appealed to me. There are parts of the lab that make sense for me, but not all. Maybe for you, you're the older, grumpier, lab? One who's been around the block, learned all she wants to, has all the friends she wants, and just wants to hang back with her favorite chew toys and comfy bed for the rest of the night. Yes?

I guess they know better than I.
I'm a lab.

Hmmm, it tells me I am a Golden Retriever. I think I like that answer.
Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11. A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...
