Ok, bear with me please.

What would you do or say if you worked with "mean girls"?  My husband has been gone for a couple of months now, so there is no one home to let out Sammy to go potty.  He stays in the house 12 1/2 to 13 hours a day.

Of course, based on that, I have high anxiety at the end of the work day to get home.  At the end of my shift I drop everything, no time to chat, no time for anything but to race home, Sammy is all that is on my mind.  I live about an hour from my job.

I have explained that a couple of times to these women at my work.  Yesterday they thought it was funny to hold the door on me, they wouldn't let me out of the office.  After a few minutes they released it and laughed.  I was probably more angry then I should have been, but I have really a high level of anxiety thinking of my dog home and unable to relieve himself.  It would hurt his pride  to use the floor as a potty spot, and probably because he is on metronomics it would hurt his bladder to make him wait one second longer than he has too.

I told them it wasn't funny, but they told me to lighten up.  I didn't stick around to argue, but it made my heart race in anger all the way home.  Was I over reacting?  They don't like dogs so maybe they just don't understand.  But, even if that is the case, can't they see how much I do?  Was this mean, or am I being sensitive?

I forgot to mention that they are now deliberately trying to engage me at the end of the day with stupid questions.  They also try to make a point of walking slowly down the stairs in front of me and blocking my way.   This has been going on for a couple of weeks since they found out my husband has gotten a job out of town and I am taking care of things at home on my own.

elizabeth, those girls are a waste of precious oxygen.  to be so cruel and self obsorbed, they shame the rest of us humans.  all you can do is pity them, as they will never know the true meaning of friendship and love that you share with sammy and shy.  if i lived closer, i'd offer to come to work with you and b*tch slap them into submission...wonder what airfare prices look like........

your true friends understand, those girls are trash.

Charon,

That is awesome!  So you don't think I am over reacting?  I was so angry I could feel the blood pulse in my ears, but I thought that it is just because I have been stressed lately and maybe I was missing the humor of it.

Thanks for the visual!  I will picture it and smile today 🙂  And maybe again when I see them on Monday, lol!

B*tch slap would be chicken s**t compared to what I'd do, oh would I have some fun with those twits. First, if possible, I'd lock the bathroom doors so they couldn't use them all day, then I'd make sure I was ahead of them in the parking lot and CREEP all the way out to the road making sure they wouldn't pass me, oh my, the wrath of Dan is not pretty!!!! Quite franlky, if they were walking slow in front of me, I'd plow right through them, of course I'm not working with them so I understand I'm not dealing with the ramifications of such behavior. Don't let them get to you, if they know it's getting your goat they will keep working on you, I'm with Charon on looking into airfares

My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010

Your coworkers are obviously very immature. Next time laugh at their childish behavior and find another way out of the building. If that fails, take Dan's advice and go with the full force bitch slapping! 😉

Good grief! Please tell me these are young girls! I shudder to think it's women!

In the words of a True Tripawd, DO NOT ENGAGE Monkeymeanie girls!  Just remember - it's no fun if only 1 person is laughing.

And if that doesn't work, I have Charon and Dan's phone number! twisted

You would think they would be young, right?  Just like high school.  I am very small, I am 5.1 and have a soft high voice.  These women are about 10 to 15 years older than me, I am 42.  But sound about 10.  I have always been embarrassed by my voice and I get people who like to put their elbows on my shoulders as a joke, or when they post memos they pretend to pick me up to read them.

These are women who make fun of my voice, or talk over the top of me when I am talking because they can.  I pissed them off in the beginning by not joining their fan club, "the in crowd".

They are also my union reps, and were on the panel when I interviewed for the job I wanted.  I stick up for my opinions around them and they don't like it.  Now, for some reason they think it is funny when I am under pressure to pull this stuff.  Maybe it is funny to them, I am just trying to stay out of their way.

That just really breaks my heart.  I know how you feel needing to get home so desperately, and then having this to deal with.  Spoil their fun by telling them you found a dog sitter that checks on the animals a couple of times during the day.  That will spoil their game and you'll be free to go about your business at the end of the day.

If that doesn't work, I'll join Charon & Dan.  It won't be pretty if we have to intervene, but it will be delightfully funny to watch 😉

Elizabeth, no you arent  over reacting, they are mean hearted people and are self absorbed as Gayle said, unfortunately that seems to be the way of the world anymore and it is sad and discouraging, you tell thoe mean girls at work that they better be glad that Cooper and Coopsdad dont live closer or they would have a WHOLE lot more than a full force b^tchslap to worry about!

#1:  They sounds like idiots.

#2:  You have to prepare yourself to get a little down and dirty the next time they do this to you.

#3:  Your solution:  Fart on 'em.  <img class="sfsmiley" title="big-grin" onclick="sfjLoadSmiley('smiley4.gif', 'big-grin', 'http://tripawds.....&#039;, 'big-grin', '1');" src="https://tripawds.com/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-smileys/smiley4.gif" alt="big-grin" />  I bet they'll get out of your way really quick, and probably won't bug you again.

you guys are the best.

I like the "fart thing".  It is an old building with narrow stairs, I bet I could make an "eye watering" stink if I had to.. 🙂

Plus, it sounds like we have more than half of the states covered if they want to continue to be mean.  Anybody from jersey?  After watching the "real housewives of jersey"  I would be afraid to mess with them!  6 inch heels and still able to swing one, wow!

Thanks very much for confirming my feelings.  I try hard not to be too sensitive when it comes to my furry kids.  Many people at work call me the animal lover, and tell me I need to not be so sensitive when I hear someone is giving their dog to the pound, or other sad stories.

So, it sounds like I will stick my chin out, try and keep out of their way, and eat burritos...  If that doesn't work, dog lovers everywhere will be up in arms!  We could do a drive by with some of my mastiff poo....  surprised

Monkeybutt says FIRST- Bring in trays full of Super Grande Latte Coffees for all and maybe some nice ice cold 28 oz waters

(as a "peace offering" of course) THEN lock the bathroom doors – Bahahahahahaha little-devillittle-devillittle-devil

PS- most toliets have supply line shut off (just look behind the tank) turn the valve and flush so theres no water in the tank, dump in a nice smelly offering courtesy of Sammy and Voila! A toliet that no one can use! (Of course that is unless one of them is actually smart enough to notice that the supply line is shut off but judging from their mentality…not)

MONKEYDOGS RULE!!!

Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.
