julie poole, the photographer who took the amazing pictures of my sister, gayle, is having a contest to find the favorite portrait of 2011.  she took some amazing portraits, but of course, i think gayle's is the best.  if you are a facebook person, and could vote for her picture, it would be great.  here's the link:

i believe you have to actually 'like' the photo at this link, for the vote to count....  thanks, we just want to make sure the world knows that cancer won't keep a good girl down, and that tripawd warrior princesses (even as angels) rule!!!

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included).  She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.

I think I just voted...   confused  All you have to do is "like" the page and then "like" the picture?

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

I can't get it to accept my "like"! I'm getting frustrated. It wouldn't work on my iPad, so I tried on my PC. A window pops up wanting access to my info - I told it ok, but it just goes to this blank page that doesn't seem to ever resolve to anything. When I try to go back and Like it - it just goes straight to that blank page in a new window. My it's because I'm using Firefox...

I want to LIKE our cousin Gayle! I'll try Internet Explorer...

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

It worked for me, but the app is suuuuuuper slow. I would say be patient and wait, it'll load.

Good luck! Be sure to keep reminding folks here. When will we know if you won?

I tried, but it freaked out my system, and I had to force quit my browser... Maybe it doesn't like Firefox...

I had a terrible time….I kept getting an error message that pop ups were blocked but no way to allow pop ups  to appear.

So I just kept clicking, finally got a box to allow app.

I was able to like it but it took more persistent clicking to be able to share it.

Gayle was such a special girl….it was an honor to be able to vote for her!

Still thinking of you Charon!

I have been trying and trying but can't get it to work. I waited for a long time, but the page that pops up never resolves to anything. It just remains blank. I tried to leave a comment saying "hey, please count my vote," but it wouldn't even let me do that. Frustrated! I wanna vote for our beautiful Gayle.

I just got my vote in.  When I tried this morning I just got the blank box, but it worked this evening.

This time I started in facebook, not the link above... maybe that is the difference?

We tried!

But even if she doesn't win - she's #1 with us!

Her Retired AvatarComet - 1999 to 2011

She departed us unexpectedly  January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.

She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
