When time was tight or the weather was bad, Rumbles pre-surgery 'short walk' was a quick zip around the block.

But for the past two weeks (weeks 3-4 post op), we've just been going to the corner and back. The first two outings, he took long, long rests on neighboring lawns. Then every day he rested less and walked more.

So last night, he had quite a bit of pep, so we kept going...I figured it would be a good test and what the heck...I always could carry him home if it got to be too much for him. And, guess what?! We made it all the way around the block! The last 1/2 block was a trudge. But he did it! I'm so proud of him (and glad I didn't have to carry 50 lbs of pooped-out Boxer all the way home).

And tonight's walk...all around the block again! We're back to our old 'short walk'. And that makes us both very happy. We're still both grinning ear to ear.

Ahhh - so glad to see Rumbles is getting back to his same routine.....smiley

I was overjoyed when Riley was able to get to the first marker - then the second.....then the rain showed up again and walks went on the back burner.....

Keep up the great work!!!!
