It's really unfortunate that because of his appearance he intimidates most people and I'm sure he doesn't understand why.
This is probably the thing that makes me the most sad when I think of Harley; all the people that looked at him like he was evil, made comments, turned and walked the other way, wouldn't allow their dogs near him, judged him because he was a Rottweiler and big, etc ... all he ever wanted was to be loved on. He was truly my real, live teddy bear.
I would love to squeeze and kiss on Fortis, too ... there is nothing like cuddling with a big dog.
Amputation on 11/10/09, due to Histiocytic Sarcoma in left elbow. Angel Harley earned his wings on 06/24/10.

Oh boy I can relate to that one. People usually don't notice I'm a Tripawd right away, all they see is my, ahem, alert posture and hear my loud hellos, and they cross the street. Mom and Dad say that when Spirit Jerry was around, people always went "aaaaaaw" as soon as they saw his froont leg missing, because it was so obvious. But me? Nope, I'm just another scary Shepherd to a lot of people. And even though some do notice I'm a Tripawd, they're still afraid!
But you know what, I say, that's OK. Because the kind of people who are brave enough to come up and say Hi are usually big dog people who completely get it, you know what I mean? And those are definitely the peeps I want to hang with!

IF being the key word. Some of us refuse to be assimilated.
We have one of those in our house! You and Bob should start your own anti-FB forum
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

So sign me up for the Bob and Jim's anti-FB forum.
I knew you didn't have an account just a few weeks ago, I thought maybe you relented.
Just an FYI - I'm not sure I would want Bob using mine either

First, I love the video! I think it was excellent! That muvee program is great! Kami and I joke privately about having to hear the music over and over and over and over trying to make a video! We feel sorry for our poor dogs who have to listen to it while making it!
I was really tired of listening to Bobby Goldsboro on Rugby's memorial video! It wasn't a sad song to me after 3 hours!
Okay, I have to ask - why are you afraid of FB? Unless of course, you don't have any friends!!!! You can set the settings to where no one can see you except who you want. I would have never gotten an acct had it been for that feature. (would never do Myspace because it's too public) Just ignore people if they want to friend you and you don't want to be friends! I do! (unlike Shanna - who'll friend anyone - she friended me!) The interesting part is I've become friends of friends and really have enjoyed meeting them.
You guys make me wish I had an easy to approach dog! If only Comet would let people love her, she'd be so happy since she needs and wants to be loved. (she is just picky!) But no! I've got a sassy - I'll growl and rush you if you look at me, dog! I don't know why she thinks that's funny, but she laughs after she scares them off!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Hi Everyone,
First of all I tried posting this message before and lost it – so now I have to re-type . I had several issues with youtube publishing my songs along with the video. Warner Music Group apparently owns a lot of these songs and they're in dispute with Youtube, thus, blocking the music you have on your video. So after doing some research, I found that there's a way to get around this if you dispute it (based on a copyright disclaimer for "fair use".) You just have to fill out this form on-line (thru Youtube) and send it in (takes 2 seconds) and then once you submit it, they unblock your music automatically and instantly. So I've been able to play every one of my songs on my videos without any problems. So you don't have go through facebook, etc. I will send everyone the instructions (i forget so I have to look it up.) So will keep you posted.
Fortis, like I've said, is a big love – love his photos!
Kami (Mackenzie's Mom)
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Jerry,
I'm not on Facebook either! I barely have the energy to log on to the computer every day let alone update a Facebook page. This is the only site I try to visit every day.
Fortis, I know what you mean about having people shun you! We would often walk Tazzie and see everyone cross the street or get off the trail when they saw her coming and she was a very sweet dog. I guess the big black dogs are too scary.
Pam
Ok…here are the instructions for getting around music being blocked on youtube. I'm also attaching a tutorial if you want to view it. But this is really easy to fill out so any time your music is blocked just follow these simple instructions. This is all based on the Copyright Act for Fair Use (also that way you don't have to use Facebook!):
Step 1. Click on your video and click on Resolve Copyright
Step 2. The next page will include information about how you may dispute the copyright claim. Click on “I want to learn more about the dispute process”
Step 3. Next: Click on: Take me to the dispute form (Right hand side will have this information Valid reasons to dispute a claim. I have a valid reason to dispute this claim. http://www.yout.....RMPIKAzw

Cometdog is right, I'll friend just about anyone. You can always hide folks from your status feed and you won't see them - handy for friends of friends you find offensive! I have reconnected with tons of folks from school and work that had fallen out of my life. And it's a great way to keep up with family and not be overly involved. I know you guys won't believe it because I'm always in your face, but I'm really a distance kind of person.

Awesome Video, Brett! The end was hilarious, and Fortis is such a snuggle bear! I always wanted a small dog I could dress up, so when the shelter said Jack was a chihuahua mix (LIARS!!!!!), I thought it would be perfect. He's still not that big at 43 pounds, but I've realized how super the big dogs are! They're like heated body pillows! Now, I want my own pack of neopolitan mastiffs...again, GREAT movie 🙂

Ouch, that hurt Comet. It's not me, Fortis has scared all my friends off. It looks like I might just have to open a FB account after all. I keep getting myself in trouble by using the bosses FB. I used it again today to post more pictures and it kicked the boss off . Seriously, I mind my own business and only use it to post photos. I'm very respectful of others privacy! I do have a more personal reason for needing a FB page and I will share that with you guys through a blog in the future.

Come on, the little Sweet Comet that I see in all the videos wouldn't hurt anybody would she? She's a sweetheart I can tell. I love the video of her climbing around on the couch.
