After insisting on coming for a walk, Cora suddenly lost her ability to walk! Was something wrong with her legs? No! Was she tired? Nope! What was wrong? Well, it seems that Cora has an obsession. She discovered the joys and delights of elk poop. Yes folks, it wasn't pretty. Cora can't see but her sense of smell works quite well and the field was full of droppings. So Cora flat out refused to walk. Although we'd barely left the car, I realized I couldn't not compete with the wonderfulness of elk shit and that are walk was doomed to failure.

I can't see it.....

Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

doh, that should work.

I was so ticked off at first. I mean, she kept throwing herself onto the ground or digging in with her legs and refusing to leave. Meanwhile floyd is like "C'mon, can we go already!". hahahahaha

so I dragged her slooooooooooowly back to the car, put her in and walked floyd and then walked her in town. Short walk but so many sounds.

lol. trust me. she got plenty. And floyd doesn't normally like elk poop and he was mostly ignoring, but it was just too funny when I turned the camera and there he was chowing down.

And yes Sally, she was seriously digging her feet in. I was so mad at first, but then you just have to laugh.

I just kenneled the poop eater and now I'm off to bed.

Wow! Elk poo is such a delicacy, i can only imagine how incredible it must smell to a doggie who has an incredibly developed sense of smell! She's just in heaven there! How neat.

No elk around here... geese poop is our delicacy, equally gross! Migration season = "You give me kisses with that mouth!, eww!"

Barret was diagnosed with Hemangiopericytoma May 16, 2013. Front left leg/scapula/pectoral muscle was amputated on June 11, 2013 and we've never looked back. Follow our story on http://barret.t.....pawds.com/ and read my column on That Pet Blog

Okay, that freakin hilarious. Something similar happens with Sage and Maverick when they find anything dead and decomposing. Glad to see I'm not the only frustrated one, lol :)

Maverick is a wonderful miniature australian shepard born with a malformation of the front right radius/ulna, amputation performed on 11/4/13 at 6 months old. Follow his story at mavericksjourney.tripawds.com.

Years ago we had a Golden who LOVED horse poop. The watch word around our house was, "Don't let Jenny kiss you if she has green lips!"
