That is a great vet clinic - dogs on the couch, people on the floor. Maybe they have miracle treatments in France? At the least, I'm sure Eurydice made some new friends and got a lot of loving.
What a great time meeting old and new friends, both human and canine. It's too bad that the Monaco palace guards are so afraid of their masters to have their photo taken. I think it would be a great for promoting tourism having a poster of a friendly mustached guard with a Great Dane tripawd!
I'll check in again on your great adventure.
Hugs from Kerren and the Katz
Well, at this point I feel I have to step in and update you.
Of course, I didn't tell Eurydice one single thing so let's keep this strictly between us.
Following the last CT scan results we stopped doxorubicin as I mentioned before.
What I didn't mention was that I have been back and forth ever since racking my brain and thinking what to do next as obviously the mets are there and they are increasing and multiplying at will ...
The UK oncologist suggested another IV chemo treatment called vinorelbine which has a 10% success rate and, if it works, may add 1 to 2 months of quality time for my girl.
As it stands, I was told she would have 1 to 3 months after the lung mets showed up on her last scan.
Sadly the vinorelbine treatment is not an option for us because we are moving out of the UK and this treatment has to be administered every week for one month and every other week there after.
The IV treatment is not available where we will be living and once we start we need to keep going ...
There is a very small chance we may be able to get hold of vinorelbine in pill form but it is extremelly complicated as it is only available at cancer hospitals for humans and has to be prescribed by an oncologist for human patients.
I will know if I can get that prescription for Eurydice or not hopefully before the end of the week ...
The other option is to go back to metronomic therapy in the hope it will delay growth of the tumours.
Kelvin is not convinced it will help as when she was on it (before doxorubicin) it didn't stop her developing lung mets.
I called the Portuguese oncologist and his opinion is slightly different, he says although it didn't stop it, it is impossible to be sure metronomics didn't delay the development of her lung mets.
I wanted a third opinion on the matter hence we are here today to meet this French vet.
His opinion is the same as the Portuguese oncologist.
So it is 2 against 1 for whatever is worth ... and, of course, Kelvin is one of the leading oncologists in the world ...
What the 3 of them agree, sadly, is timing and this is based on their experience with their own patients.
They concur with 1-3 months survival and symptoms developing in 4-6 weeks ...
So, here we are ...
... Eurydice is as happy as a bunny and that is what counts
I am changing absolutely NOTHING, I will make every day as great as I can, just like I have done since I laid my eyes on her pretty little face and welcomed her into my life 5 and 1/2 years ago.
The only extra pampering now is I can give her all sorts of food which I would avoid before because it wasn't good for her longterm.
As it stands, short of chocolate and nuts, everything is allowed !
I am really, really, really sad deep down but I don't allow it to interfere with our days in any way of form, that's the truth.
My thoughts are there will be a time to cry but it is not today, it is not today.

... I just met this new vet who was super nice to me and once Mom and him stopped talking (they talked for so long I had enough time for a good old snooze ) we went back to the reception area ...
... sadly the couch was taken ...
... but I didn't really mind as I LOVE daschunds and so does Mom (her first dawg was a standard short hair daschie) ...
... and I truly adored this one's cute little beard, if you do a close-up you'll be able to see what a cutie this mini girl is

There are so many things I can learn from Missy Cow:
1. How to truly relax and practice patience.
2. Nap when I need one.
3. Truly enjoy every morsel of food.
4. Sleep on the couch at the doctor's office. Hey, wait, they never have couches. Okay, on to the floor I go. I can bring a blanket.
5. Keep trying to fly. I'll never know if I can unless I ran and bounced and leapt, maybe I'll take off like Eurydice.
6. Stop and enjoy the scenery, smell the fresh air and the flowers.
7. Look all directions for a new friend.
8. Live life to the fullest. Don't wait, do it now.
9. Travel more.
10. Wish upon a star.
Sweet dreams Eurydice and Teresa.
I looooved visiting Monaco with yi4u!!! BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY AND ARCHITECTURE!
And to be able to see THE PALACE...WOW!!
Oh gosh, the Guards! What a vision with your Mom trying to get them to take a picture with you!! Hilarious!!
And what is it with you and the Cops?? They just loooove you! Of course, everybody does!!! 🙂
Eurydice, you are so humble. You truly have no idea the impact you have on every single Soul who is drawn into your circle of light and love And make no mistake about it, your enlightened energy is a magnet for people AND dogs. EVERY SINGLE PERSON WITH A HUMAN IN IT SHOWS SMILES AND JOY AND LOVE IN THEIR EYES!!!
And then we have the unbelievable relationship you jave with dogs...sooo many dogs! Gizmo and Frankie are your most recent buddies. And of course the cute little Dachshund in YOUR sofa at rhe clnic!! No dogs are fearful in yiur presene!! No dogs show any sign of aggression! I can only imagine the "conversations" you have with all your pals!
EVERY post is a highlight....EVERY photo of you is adorable and the scenery is magnificent!
But your comments Eurydice...your thought bubbles.....they are the best part of it all!! 🙂 You are brilliant with your words, smart, insightful, witty...so witty!! 🙂
And then we always get to spend night-night time with you as you ease into the most comfy, cozy, restful sleep anyone could imagine....
Sweet dreams lovely!
Love!!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Ditto Kerren, those are wonderful lessons!
Well it is heartbreaking about the mets, there's no getting around that. I had so hoped the third vet would share some brilliant new breakthrough we'd never heard of. I'm so sorry. When vets give you a timeframe, your mind goes crazy wondering when, if, how, things will unfold. But for now, you are projecting a strong, pawsitive energy that Eurydice can't help but feel.
When I see every beautiful photo and video of Eurydice, she is so happy, free and overjoyed to be with her favorite people in the world. Mets or no mets, nothing gets in the way of her daily celebrations.
You know that following her example is the best way to live, now and always. And you're so right. There's no time for tears now. Eurydice still has lots of joy to share in this world. And away you both shall go, sending love and brightening up people's days. The effects are being felt all over the globe. There's no stopping you now.

Ohhhhhh .....
Thank you so very much sweet friends for your words and for appreciating Eurydice so much
She really is a sugar pie, as sweet as honey and as goofy as Pluto, I sooooooo adore her and have learnt so much from her ...
Here we are living each day and enjoying our life together
I am actually down with a cold so stayed in bed the whole day and miss cow stayed by my side patiently with no complaints ...
We just went down to the garden for pee/poop/quick hop around a couple of times and even then very briefly ...
It was a shame because we had a full fun day planned with Isabelle and Honey but we will see them next week ...
Thank you again for being there and being so marvellous, me and Eurydice feel really honoured to call you our dear, sweet friends
