By the time we got back to the car I was happy to jump in and be quiet (for a change)

Auntie Rosa and auntie Marta got Caramelo next to me for a final cuddle heart

Caramelo's Mom Rosa made sure he looked pretty sitting next to me but the poor fella was not so keen in staying still for the picture laughing

I think the vet made a mistake and gave Eurydice a pug sized bandage for her nail.  It's OK though, because when Tani tore a nail she got a Dane sized bandage!

Glad to see a little nail issue doesn't slow her down!

Hey there Christine 💗

Yeah, it is just paradise for dogs in France 💘💗 they are welcomed absolutely EVERYWHERE 👍🏼🎉💞🐕🐩 especially in the south, where we used to live.

Italy is the same, Spain is great and so is Portugal, although dogs are not allowed inside restaurants (but yes for everywhere else as you've seen😉)

When we were in Portugal, we couldn't count the times restaurant owners and managers apologised profusely for not being able to allow my girl inside, sadly the stupid health and safety law states they can actually close a restaurant if they allow a dawg in ... stupid idiotic regulations ...

As for Swtizerland, we only took her to Gstaad and they were so crazy about Eurydice that the hotel upgraded us to a suite (with a stunning view!) because "the room was not big enough for this sweet dog"

It will be our first time in Geneva with miss cow but so far so good.

I asked the hotel we are staying in whether they accept dogs and the reply was a shocked "mais bien sûr, madame!" ie "but of course, madam!" and as for restaurants the same has happened.

Poor old England is way, way, way behind.

I don't know any restaurants that accept dogs (some pubs do but not all) and zero shops, offices, etc etc will allow them in.

It is going to be tough going back after all this loving and cuddling and welcoming everywhere ...

Anyway ...

Big hug and cuddles to Gator and woof woofs from Eureka 😘😘💞🐶

Hey Kerren 💜

Yes, Caramelo is totally crazy about Eurydice, we all met by chance at Nice airport✈️ 4 1/2 years ago.

Rosa was waiting for Marta (Caramelo was a puppy) and I was waiting for my daughter Rita with Eurydice who was a puppy too (albeit already enormous!)

They played together and we called it a day and that was that but then a few months later we met again by chance at the beach and became friends, going for walks together and the lot.

Fast forward to yesterday, Caramelo was as excited as always to see Eurydice but their Moms told me when they left he was quiet in the car which is unheard of.

When he got home, he went straight to his bed and looked unbelievably sad and this has never happened either.

It broke my heart because you know how dawgs have a sixth sense about life and death matters, I know he knows she is not here for long 😔😔😔

And hearing about his reaction made me feel terribly, terribly sad and I couldn't help myself thinking maybe I don't have as long as I am hoping for ...

Nothing I can do about it, I know, and I haven't changed one iota reg my attitude facing this 💩💩💩 disease and how I am truly enjoying every day with my sweet girl 💞🐮 and giving her absolutely the best time I can.

The aim of recording this trip is mainly to show other pawrents how life on 3 for a dog with osteo can be a happy and fulfilled one but I cannot not say at times I weaken and that is normal and it is ok.

We are only human, so we are not perfect, if we were perfect we would be dogs!

Sending you a big kiss, Kerren and cuddles to your cutie kitties 😘💞😺😸 and big licks and some slobber (for good measure) 💦💦from miss cow 👅👅👅

Hi Karen💜

You really made me laugh with that photo of  Tani with a leg bandage which looks as big as Eurydice's foot one 😆

Everything is out of proportion with these giant dawgs 🐮

And I tell you, before amputation I thought I was carrying a lot of stuff with me but this is a totally new ball game !

Apart from her portable bed🛏, I now carry at all times her elbow protection 💪🏽 her booties 👢👢👢some cream and disinfectant spray just in case and 3 bottles of water 🍼🍼🍼rather than 1 as before ...

You are clever sticking to your sweet little pugies 😉

Sending you a big hug and cuddles to your mini cutie pies 😘💞🐾🐶🐶

Thanks for the slobbery kiss Eurydice. I feel sad for Carmelo. He can always hope for another visit. We can always dream of miracles.

I wanted to let you know about Cimetidine which is used for some types of human cancer to slow down growth and metastasis and for mast cell cancer in dogs: http://tripawds.....treatment/

It might be worth asking about it for Eurydice. They probably have done studies but they don't study all cancers due to the lack of funds.

Pleasant dreams Teresa and Eurydice. More adventures to come.

Mom had planned a big day out with me, Reilly, Justine and Frank (my schnauzer mini friend) and we were meeting in a place called Plateau de la Justice which has breathtaking views and then we were going down to Monaco for a stroll.

What happened instead was Mom's car broke down just as we left and we were stuck for the best part of 3 hours waiting for a mechanic to come take a look ...

It turned out a little stone got into the wheel and was rubbing against the breaks which produced an horrific sound when the car was moving.

This chap got the wheel out and removed the stone and we were good to go but by the time it was fixed it was too late to join them ...

So Mom took me to Mandelieu la Napoule beach instead.
