Hi everyone, this post is going to be used to kill two birds with one stone. Cooper had a bit of a scare the last couple of days. Im not sure how many of you that know Cooper remember or know that Coopers only treatment was the left front leg amputation and a change of diet to a grain free food, he never had chemo of any kind. The last couple days he has been a bit whiny and he started to cough a little which of course brought the worst of fears out. This morning Cooper coughed a little and spit out a little bloody mass - I took the mass in a plastic bag to Coops doctor and he looked at it and listened to Coopers symptoms, he said it absolutely did not look like something coughed up from the lungs , and said from the sound of Coops cough which has been very light like trying to clear the throat that he is thinking allergies or sinus trouble (which I can personally attest to - the pollen in this area has been nightmarish ) he gave Cooper a prescription for this and I am to check back in early next week. Coopers appetite and spirit has been phenomenal. He is resting peacfully right now on his Granny Kay quilt, now part 2 of this post - and I know it is 3 days early - but given the scare and the fact that this is the big 6 month ampuversary - which to me is huge milestone in itself since Cooper has been beating cancer without chemo... But Tuesday is the big guys 6month ampuversary and I sure would like everyone to celebrate with us in a big way! We thought we werent going to have him for Thanksgiving last year, then passed Christmas and then New Years and now Easter! Thanks for listening and the pack here wishes all a most blessed Easter!

Aw Coopsdad,

You scared me too with the title of this.  I didn't know Cooper wasn't doing chemo.  I am going to celebrate BIG TIME TODAY, with Sammy, Coops "brother from another".  Happy early ampuversary big boy!!  I am going to the store anyway this morning, we will be splurging on a little ice cream tonight while partying for you 🙂

Many hugs, and sending "cancer free" thoughts your way!

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

Ok, SuperCooper, it's not nice to scare people that way!  If you aren't getting enough attention, wait until Coopsdad goes to bed and you can jump on the computer and let us know all about it.  We'll be happy to jump in on your behalf and get that dad of your straightened out!  There is absolutely no need to cough up bloody stuff just for attention!

Seriously, hope the meds get rid of the nasty sinus crap and you're feeling like a champ for your super big 6 month ampuversary.  Breath, dad, it sounds like the worst is over.

Sooper Cooper, you almost gave me a heart attack when I read the title to this post. We are so glad that you are doing well and it was only stoopid allergies. I have allergies too and now is a bad time of year. A very Hoppy Ampuversary to you, my fearless friend - and many, many more to come! Hoppy Easter Easter to all as well - and just be sure to watch out for those sneaky Monkeybutt Bunnies and their freaky eared cohorts. Easter is the time of year they like to sneak into people's houses and commit mayhem.

Cooper,

I hope your feeling better, but I don't think it's such a good idea to scare you're parents like that (or me)!

Rest this weekend so you can have a really special 6 month Ampuversary celebration. I'll be having some special treats for here for you too!

As a raced by the forums to check a PM, I thought to myself - I didn't just see a topic with "Cooper and Scare" in the title did I?

And then I saw it was the "anything goes" topic so I was thinking, he must have seen a Spotted Monkeybutt-bunny!  AND NOW I'm reading it and it was a real scare!

Cooper Sooper Dooper!

You better keep us up-to-date immediately on what it is for sure!

Hey Coopsdad, don't you say "Cooper had a scare" and "kill two birds" in the same post! Geez, we almost pooped our pants we got so scared!!

You're a pretty pawesome pawrent for thinking fast and bagging up the big bloody mass. Ick! Seriously gross, but smart of you to take it to the vet's.

Whatever the cause of the sneezing and coughing, we hope it goes away soon so you can pawty down!

Let's get this pawty started! It's Cooper's Six  Month Ampuversary!!!

Even I, Monkeybutt-bunny can't find anything amusing with a bloody mass!!!!!!  Too bad it wasn't fatty mass! That would have given me a month's worth of material!  Bwahahahhahahahahahahaha!

Listen up CoopPoop   - Even opposing forces never wants the other leader to be out of commission!  So, I speak for all of the Monkeydogs in The Monkeydog Federation, you better stop upchucking anything that could constitute a truce!

Maybe Coop just ate too many bunny ears! One time when traveling through Utah, Jerry started panting heavily, so of course we freaked out. Turned out to be the heat. By the time we got up to Colorado, he was breathing much easier. Another time he coughed up a meaty looking little tidbit. Again, thinking the worst, it was likely just that, a scrap of meat he had eaten earlier. After we knew the mets were growing, he would let out a hacking cough periodically but it was months before his condition seriously deteriorated.

Congratulations on the upcoming anniversary, and a very Hoppy Easter to Coop's pack!

Coops

Your story reminded me of another coughing scare that another great giant tripawd had last year. Has anything gone missing in your house lately (such as a sock?!). This story by Oslo is pretty funny (it would not have been as funny if we heard about it before the culprit appeared:

Thanks for all the pawsitive thoughts from everypawdy, we were pretty somber around here this morning. Cooper has had two of his pills from the doc and already seems 100% better. He has rested well through the day and his breathing is much better, no whimpering and no coughing since this morning. Monkeybuttler - dont you worry you arent going to have to call a truce anytime soon! We need to be more like dog as hid pawrents , but since he is at the 6 month mark and  no chemo - we of course jumped to the worst possible conclusion. We will keep you posted over the next few days, but right now things look a lot brighter!
