Jerry brought up in this thread that dogs feet smell like fritos. It made me remember a Spirit Tripawd blog post that was the first time I had heard about the frito feet thing. Its not clear to me why I can remember that and not where I left my phone, but I digress... A little searching and I found Opie's Trail!
Opie became immortal way back in April of 2010 but he (and his mom Nancy) left a brilliant blog that among other things had us smelling our dogs feet!

And here I always thought that puppies' feet smelled like soda crackers. Maybe they grow up into Frito feet???

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Oh Karen thank you so much for taking time to dig this up and share it. I was in a hurry the other day and meant to come back and share but I forgot. What good memories! It's so wonderful to have you and all the history you remember here and sharing it with members. Thank you.

Karen, you are a very fne "Historian" indeed! I thoroughly enjoy any opportunity to read about our tripawd heros and their humans. Jist by reading the replies to Nanacy's blogs and posts I got to learn more about so many of the other dogs too.....Peyton....Jake...and more. It means even more nw when I see their banner pop up. Kowing that Pug Maggie's banner is linked to "Rent"...stuff like that fascinates me!

Well folks the Frito Feed Phenomenon goes way back here, to when Opie blogged about it.
Thanks to everyone who smelled their dog’s feet. Now, try licking them…they actually taste like corn chips……Bwaahahahahahahah…no..don’t do it, I’m just kidding. Seriously, though, I always wondered if I was the only one and now I know I am not! Just like there are lots of tripawds out there, there are lots of Frito Feet too! And yes CairaSue, my mom thinks my feet smell like dusty corn chips. Jake’s mom: my mom says that her last golden retriever, Griz, had popcorn feet like Wolfie.
And after that, everypawdy was smelling their dog's feet!

No, sorry to say I've never had a cat whose feet smell like Fritos. They smell like chocolate!
