Hellooooo
Thank you all for all the kind thoughts and wise words. I thought I'd give another update. Things are going ok. I am not a patient person so this is a huge learning opportunity for me. 😛 My first follow up visit went well. I was told that for the next month (3 1/2 weeks now) that I was not allowed to life anything over a couple pounds, bend or twist. Sheesh. That doesn't leave much. I've been pondering if I can do the hokey pokey.
Cora is doing ok. She's mostly adapting well, but has some hard moments. She doesn't understand why I keep nudging her with my legs. She is not thrilled with that. In the past I would guide her with my hand on my harness but that just doesn't work right now, especially since every once in while, she'd decide to drop all her weight on me. We had one hugely frustrating moment where someone was coming over to do some work on my roof. I wanted her to go in the house and she refused. That's the point in the past where I'd pick her up and carry her. When she's in that mood no treats will bribe her and she won't be lead by the leash. So I finally gave up and instead of trying to get her in, I ushered her further into the yard, away from the roof. That she agreed with. She was very scared when the blower started but I calmed her and then she was fine.
The only other problem we've had is with her pills. At first I had help but I've been doing it on my own. However she doesn't like my new method. Last night and this morning I went back to my old way (which means I'm bending) and she is fine. So, I just need to figure out what's different. I've been crouching beside her when I give them to her but other than that I just don't so the difference.
Socially, it's been great for her and especially Floyd. I'm not living my normal, introverted life. There have been so many people in and out of the house. Cora doesn't mind unless it's a bunch of people and then she gets a bit overwhelmed. For Floyd, it was really hard but now that hotdogs come out every time someone comes over, he's starting to feel much better about the situation. lol.
Having other people observe Cora has been interesting. It's made me aware of some of her quirks that I've started taken for granted. I may write more about that later, if anyone is interested.

Of course we're interested in hearing about how others perceive her!
Glad to hear things are going well for the whole pack. See, even a health situation can have blessings, you just have to be open to experiencing them. Yay you!
What was your new method of pill giving like? Maybe we can offer some suggestions so you don't have to keep bending right now.
Keep healing!!
