Just wondering if anyone out there has used essential oils for treating various pet ailments. My 11 year old Westie overdid it and is limping and I'm thinking of trying oil for arthritis. Any info would be welcome.

Hey Paula!

I was searching The Natural Pet Store. Here's a link that, not only showed some "natural remedies" for arthritis, but look ovver to the right, there was a product for incontinence.

Anyway, just thought it may be a good starting point for essential oils, and maybe even some pee remedies for Nitro. How is that crazy boy doing?

And you know we need ro see a pic of him AND the Westie!

Love!

Thanks for the link Sally, I ordered some of the arthritis stuff. Also, at Nitro's chiro appt today I asked her about accupuncture for Kodi...she said it can definetly give relief to weak hind end areas, so we scheduled a visit. He's a little improved today; I sure hope it's not a CCL of the knee! It'd sure be nice to have a break from worrying about one or the other!

It seems like a lot of people get relief from the essential oils so it stands to reason it would work for animals.  If nothing else I'm sure Kodi will enjoy you giving a massage to work the oil in 😀

Oops silly me.  I assumed you rubbed it on them but after checking Sally's link I see they take it orally.  Still think I'd rather get a massage 😳😳

Hi Linda...yes Sally's link is for an arthritis supplement you put in their water - which I am going to try. But I'm also interested in essential oils. I ordered one called Panaway, that's for osteoarthritis among other things. This you do massage into their muscles, so Kodi will be enjoying this too! What pampered pooches I have!

Look at that adorable Kodi go after his present! I love how he's using that paw of his to hold down that feisty wrapping paper. Soooo cute!

I have to give you a standing ovatio for doing an excellent job of FAKING that you aren't worrying about Kodi and all the thi gs that "could" be wrong! Good job! winker And if you aren't faking, you can show the rest of us how you do that!way-cool

I REALLY do think you'll find some relief with the acupuncture for Kodi. That seems to be one "issue" where acupuncture really helps. I think it takes several sessions though, maybe not.

Hugs!

Oh look how cute he is!!! I don't have any advice on the oils but I am curious too. I would think they would work ... but I don't know.

But I love seeing him open his prezzies .... too cute!
