Hello all my tripawd friends,

I just wanted to give you a happy update on our home.  On the 16th of October we brought our newest little boy who we named Gosh into our lives, a "miniture newfoundland mix".  I have never heard of it either, and by the way he is gaining weight I doubt that he will be miniture for long!

Meet Gosh :)

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss my sweet Sammy.  Having Gosh in our lives and our hearts has helped ease the pain though, he is such a treasure!

Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in the right front leg 8/23/10,

leg fractured 8/27/10,

leg amputated 8/30/10

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

I opened up this topic, and Samy's banner was at the top!!  Amazing!!!  Okay, so Gosh is about the cutest thing I've seen in quite a while.  Congratulations!  I'm so happy for you!  It'll be interesting to see how big Mr. Gosh will get.  I've never heard of a miniature Newfoundland either.  I think you need to start blogging about your new boy, so we can all be kept in the loop on his adventures!!  More pictures please!!!!!

Oh, Elizabeth, I am so happy for you guys.  He is just squeezable!  And just so you know, I still think of Sammy often, too.  I hope you know he will always live on in the hearts of many, many people.

Lisa

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Thanks Lisa,

Everyone here and the dogs who fought cancer have a permanent place in my heart.  The time we shared, our fears, our hopes, and in the end, our gut wrenching pain has in my mind made you and everyone like a family to me.  I think that is how my dad is with his Navy buddies, and I feel we went through the trenches together too.

Gosh is so squeezable!!

Gosh is cuter than cute!  You are right, the ones we met along our journey do remain forever in our hearts, just as their beloved dogs (or angels) do. Some of the most amazing bonds I have are the ones from here.

I've been enjoying your pictures and posts on FB about both Golly and Gosh, and I think they will both have you trained pretty soon based on what's going on. So happy that YOU are happy, Elizabeth! Sammy is delighted you made room for two more.

What a ridiculously adorable little puppy!  That picture of him in the crate with his paws in the air is almost too much cuteness to handle.

I love when Sammy's banner comes up - it ALWAYS makes me smile!

He is so adorable! I want to kiss his smoochy face!

I'm sure Sammy is smiling down, happy that you are happy and thrilled that his new brother and sister get to experience the same loving home that he had!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Wow! Congrats on adding to your pack. How old is Gosh, and how much does he weigh? I've never heard of a miniature Newfoundland. Humm....could he be Sammy's mini me?

Thanks everyone!  It is lucky for this funny boy that he is so stinkin' adorable, he is really bent on giving me a heart attack.  Everytime I turn around I am saving him, he leaps wrecklessly off the couch, races down our hill, gets in comeupance battles with his sister.... the list is endless :)   Have I mentioned he is the most stubborn dog I have ever met?  It is awesome, I think it is an admirable trait and as long as I can keep Gosh alive I will do my best to enjoy his "determined to do" and be all you can be" attitude.

Elizabeth

P.S. Pam, I meant to send the pic's sooner, but my hubby came home unexpectedly yesterday, so I will post more soon.

Gosh, Gosh is so adorable.  His name suits him.  He'll keep you too busy and exhausted to feel sad! I'm so happy for you.
