So my dogs' "Family Physician" who I've been with for almost forty years is retiring. It's hard to put a value on that kind of experience, not to mention a vet who is a friend, who knows my commitment to my dogs and who has always made his phone number available to me 24/7. He has made "house calls" when "help" with transition time was needed.
How do you ever thank someone so devoted, so kind, so giving?. I wanted to do something special.
So today I brpught Frankie in for an anal exam and to jave his anal glands expressed!!!
Frankie has a tiny start of a fistula, so Dr. Anthony got to cover his vutt in ointment today too! Yeah, I'm sure it's a "going away gift" he'll remember! Frankie too!
Merry Myrtle gave him a slime kiss as her gift! She looks soooo pretty in her bling collar and Frankie so handsome!

And, of course we top our trip off with a visit to Starvucks and a whip cream bath for my car!! It is a bit of a challenge holding two Puppy zLattes and a tavlet while trying to take vide!

AWE!!!! how cute!!! I can only imagine how bittersweet that retirement is. Happy for him but sad for the fur-babies...
That photo of them spooning is TOOOOOOOO cute! Did Myrtle really plop her leg over Frankie like that? Adorable!!!~ I have been known to plop a baby in Jasper's arms from time to time and she snuggles it right up but I can't imagine her cuddling w/another dog. Except me - she likes to press her big booty up against me in bed ... we have a very close relationship now. LOL

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Here's another one for you Alison! And yeah, Myrtle does the hugging all on her own...sort of. Wherever Myrtle lays down, Frankie will crawl up on her, under her, anyway he can to get as close to her as possible.
I love how Jasper sleeps with you...and her babies too! Lotta love in those kinds of snuggles!

I love the snuggle pictures and Myrtle was ready for Frankie's latte. She didn't want to share. I can't believe that no one would take video for you while you did the 2 lattes
I know how it is to have a vet leave especially one you like so much. I hope he has a happy retirement 🙂 (I watched the videos but had to turn sound off because Jazz started barking with Frankie LOL)

05/04/2006 - Bosch, Sassy's pal, earned his wings 03/29/19 fought cancer for 4 months.

LOL! I had to let the girls out because they had to go look for the coon that was barking!
Sally, how in the world do you get all the "sticky" off your car, seats, window and arm? I'm sure you tavlet is sticky too. LOL!

Love these! My favorite is the picture of Myrtle licking her chops. She is so funny. I am sure it is sad to have your longtime vet retire. He sounds like a good one. I wish my dogs would snuggle together. They bye for my lap, but not to sleep with each other. I will have to post a pic of my son's Great Dane and very small English Bulldog snuggled up. They sleep like that all the time. not my guys, Chan is sort of grumpy and will usually only snuggle with me ( on his terms), Daryl has to be pressed against a human and Lucy, well, she just buzzes around like a hummingbird. TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
LOVE the snuggle pics! Its awesome how much they love each other. If Nitro just bumps into Kodi during the night, Kodi growls

Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"
