Last night, I had some trouble sleeping. Menopause will do that. Anyway, I got to thinking of Ty going to the bridge almost 2 years ago. Teary eyed at that, I then started thinking of my Aussie, collie mix that I sent to the bridge 19 years ago. You see, I left her in that room. The vet told Hubby " Get her out of here" because I was hysterical. She was my baby for 14 years. Of course I was! As I was leaving, she tilted her head back and looked at me. I can still see it. It still breaks my heart after all these years. I left her when she needed me most. It was an emergency and on a Sunday. Anyway, today, I am heading over the mountain to work and I see this dog hobbling right in the center of the road. At first, I think she has been hit. I pulled over and prayed that the cars behind me see her. She seemed skittish and ran from me. Then I notice she is a Tripawd. She is hobbling because she is an elderly Tripawd, not injured. I got in my purse and rattled my Tums bag. I was able to go over and pick her up. She had some fur missing ( chewed off?) on her backend. Looked like maybe a stray. She only weighed about 20 or 25 lbs. She felt just right in my arms. It was like looking into Muffin's eyes 20 years ago. I am heading for my car thinking that I will take her to work and then get on Facebook and see if someone is missing her. Hubby would have hung me out on the clothesline if I had brought her home. I got away with the 3rd, but a 4th would send him right over the edge.😀  So as I am walking toward my car carrying this dog, I spot a man walking up the road. Asking if he knew Nything about the dog, he replied that it is just the neighbors dog and she follows him when he walks his dog . I said she was in the middle of the road and had no tags, just a pink collar, that is how I knew she was a girl. Hopefully, he will pass along how close they came to not having her today. She was smack cob on the center line and people fly on that road. He said to just put her down and she would follow him home. I felt almost like she was sent to me today...... A Tripawd that looks so much like my Muffin. My Tripawd at the Bridge and my Muffin also and after I was just feeling so sad last night. When the man called her to follow him he called out her name: It was JOY!

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

Oh Lpri!!!! LORI! LORI!!! LORI!!!! All welled up and foose bumps head to toe!!

HOLY MOLU!!! Talk about connecting qith Miffin and Ty too! WOW!! And connecting right now...the .onth of April...WOW!! You needed to hear from them both and they did not disappoint!!

I guess its because we stay on this site, but we probably relive all of our dogs' transitions since childhood far more than most "normal" people! And the night time, right before we "try" and doze off, that's when we seem to relive this the most. We don't revisit the thousands of great times..ohh no...just any "blink of the eye sad time"!

What's so beautiful about how this scenario played out for in the last 24 hrs, is the verification that our dogs' loves are timeless and free and never ending! They are, like we are, Spiritual Beings that continue on past our earth clothes.

Muffin, Ty...they both want you to know they are feeling JOY!! Everyday of their lives with you meant JOY!! Muffin "came back" through the energy of that little dog to let you know celebrate all the JOY the two.of you shared!!

So tonight, let Muffin come to you as you start to doze and think of something that made you laugh when you were together...something that brpught you both JOY!! Can't wait to hear what it is! And Lori, I'll do the same if a "negative" memory of a transition in the past tries to creep in.

Tha ks for sharing this beautiful moment with us today! WOW!! WOW!!!

Love you so much!

Sally and My Chunky Spiritual Being Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

OMG .... goosebumps reading this .... you just never know when your angel will send a sign and that was a BIG sign!!! THANK God you saved her though. That's really scary and stuff like that gets my hair up .... grrrrr!!!! I know it's not like LA but even so... doggies should just be free roaming like that!!! OK... of my high horse~!

Hugs to you Lori!!! I know this month is tough... it was so hard two years ago when we April gals lost our babies so close together. It seemed so unreal but it also really bonded us together and it's been really great to see how far we have all grown, come, and healed ... and let more fur-baby love into our home!

I bet your hubby would have let"Joy" catch a sleep or two in your casa. winkerwinkerwinker

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Oh Lori, I sat here and sobbed for your anniversary of Ty heartbreak, and your heartbreak from many years ago with muffin..... Like the others have said thankfully you were there at the exact time to help that sweet old soul, a little help from your angels I am convinced. And I agree with Alison, I am betting your hubby wouldn't have minded her crashing at your house for a day or two, or forever 😊🐾

I know this is a really difficult month for so many of you, hard to believe so many beloved pups left to go to the Bridge so close in time to each other. But they all are watchng over all of you 🐾💜

Thinking of you, (and I have to say, I giggled at your menopause comment 😂) {{{ Hugs }}}

Amazing story Lori goose bumps here..  You know it's hard to be there.  I left a few dogs because I couldn't be there.  Now I regret it.  There are just things you do when you are younger and don't know any better.  I know Muffin forgives you just as my dogs do.  I think that there was a reason why that old girl was sent today and it was to let you know Muffin was ok and forgives you.

Had to chuckle at your menopause story too.

OH WOW! Just had a chance to read your story, this is SO cool. Definitely one very special sign from Muffin AND Ty that they are OK and all is well.

Please, don't beat yourself up. You did the best you could with the emotional tools you had at the time. You were there for her in more ways than you realize and she would never hold those moments against you. Remember, it's the cumulative moments over the course of the life you shared that make up your relationship with her. Nothing can ever take that love away. {{{{hugs}}}}

Oh my gosh!!! As I read your story, I could visualize everything including the sleepless nights (won't go there!).

The "look" is what got me. I know what you're talking about when you referenced it. I see it all the time from our girls.

Thank doG you were there. And her name was JOY?! Yup, goose bump city here.

xoxo
