We passed… We passed.  I was so nervous but Snickers did awesome.  No problem what so ever.  One thing I always wanted to do with Sassy but never had time or knew how to go about it.   Our next step to become certified is to do 10 1 hour visits.  So that is our next step after vacation in VA & Georgia.

Congratulations Michelle and Miss Snicker’s!  Well done!  Mission accomplished!  You both will be great at spreading warmth and love.  It took a lot of time, work and patience to get through this first stage, I have no doubt you two will excell on the rest.  And who knows Michelle maybe Sassy Sugar Bear is a “therapy dog” at the Bridge and guided your every step with Snickers.  Hugs to you both!

Michelle we are so proud of you! And Snickers too of course, great job!

The happiness and joy you will both bring to people who need it most will be felt around the globe.

Will Snickers wear a “uniform” during your visits? And where will you go first?

She will have a bandana at first that says “in training”  then once we complete the 10 visits we will be certified and get a vest.  We can pick different places to go.  So I will do some looking around on the teams FB page after I get back from VA & Georgia to decide.  🙂

Congratulations!

What was the test? Was it like Canine Good Citizenship?  I’ve been working with Elly on those 10 skills and there is a lot to get through, we are no where near ready to test.

Can’t wait to hear how the training and first visits go.

Karen,

It was for her Therapy dog evaluation.  Basically the Canine Good Citizen test x10.  They have to be perfect.  We went through classes for almost a year. She probably could have tested earlier but I wanted it to be perfect.  I think I was more stressed.  I cried after we passed.  Everyone else is like she has got this no problem.  Me I was like nervous. Thinking she wasn’t going to listen, pull on her leash while walking etc.  Not one thing out of place.

When I get back I will see what is being offered for visits 🙂  And start.
