For as much as I 'complain' (well not really) about Jasper and her "Jasper-ness", it really warms my heart to see her feel SAFE and SECURE in HER home! I have noticed on our walks how she walks with SO much more confidence; spirited, focused. She no longer looks over her shoulder or keeps her tail between her legs. She raises and wags it vigorously!!! Her ears still stand straight up - I don't think she can really put them all the way down (anyone w/dogs with those kind of ears know?) - they can go sideways when she's feeling uneasy or when I put the camera too much in her face.
She is SMART. Really smart... last night I was chatting w/my Tripawds buddies and asked her to bring me her toy and she did. Many, many times.
She was even a total love and got out of the way when I dumped an entire cup of hot tea on my laptop and flipped out. So that was where I disappeared last night - chat-buddies. Computer dead. Data 90% chance of recovery (all those Shelby photos ... ALL). My heart was in my gut and I was devastated so word to the wise - back your sh!t up frequently! I feel confident the guys at Geek Squad can save my photos AND put them all on my new computer that I had to buy last night. 
BUT Jasper ... I get home, clearly upset and sad and she just wants to give and receive love....
and every single morning, when I am in the shower, she builds herself a fort out of my pillows. Creates her own little nest so she can snoozy time while I am at work. And she's got at least three babies in there (you can see two but one was under her belly).
And like her big angel sister ... both were/are determined to ruin the back of that couch (this was Jasper yesterday and Shelby a couple years ago). #TBT

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
And I assure you, this melts every single heart in Tripawd Land!!!
This is such a beautif story that continues to blossom every single day....for BOTH of you!!
I remember the posts where Jasper was so frightened, so unsure, did NOT walk with confidence and pride! I think was also fearful that she would be "given away". Just as you had some "blockages" in allowing yourself to love her, she had the sa.e blockages for fear she either would never be lpved, or she would be loved and then given away! A big awwww in that!!
The way she makes herself a little nest with her towys...another huge AWWWWW....she realy is so precious!!
Having thought I had lost Hap p y Hannh.s memory card thing, I can TRULY relate to the fear and anguish you felt a he thought of losing Shelby's pictures!!! I'm sure the Geek Swuad can save them for you! If not Ill have BFF Bobby at Verison fly over and fix it for you!!
Hot tea??? Perhaps had you been drinking wine and not hot tea, this would not have happened!

That freaking sucks Alison. I have an external hard drive that I have copied most of my pictures onto have a few left to move but my thing is this I need to get a fire box to store the darn thing in. I have a fear of fire that I will lose it all. I don't know why. There are just somethings I can't lose.
I love all the pictures of JL and her forts. She just wants to be secure and that is her way of doing it. I am glad you are both completely in love with each other

05/04/2006 - Bosch, Sassy's pal, earned his wings 03/29/19 fought cancer for 4 months.

My daughter just went through the same thing. Except her computer just crashed because it was old. A computer guy got all of her pictures off and put them on CD for her. She can then put them on her new one and still has the CD as backup. I am a photo card hoarder. I buy a new one when it gets full and the old one gets stored in ( Michelle, you will love this) in my firebox. JL is the cutest thing all curled up with her babies. She has hit the jackpot and she knows it!
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
Talk about a great attitude even when things get ruff! Wow this girl really does light up your heart, and ours too. So sorry about the laptop, that's my worst nightmare. But YAAAAHOOO that she is helping you to Be More Dog throughout the catastrophe. That's part magic, part pawrenting, part Shelby Lynne teaching you both that your relationship was meant to be. Pawesome!

THANK GOD!!!! I've got my own "Bobby" at Best Buy here in LA! Joshua saved everything - reloaded ALL the Shelby photos to my new laptop and now I have TWO back-up hard-drives! Which now, thank you Michelle, I am considering getting a firebox for or putting in a safe deposit box. I also have ALL my photos backed up on 'drop-box'. Phew....
and a pretty new laptop that I have to learn how to navigate... sigh.
And Jasper ... awe... thank you all for loving her as much as I do! she really is a simple and yet very sweet dog. I am so glad I took a chance on her! Those silly ears won me over before the rest of her!

Alison, I saw this on fb when you posted it and I commented, but I still need to add another comment here......The pic of Jasper, under the pic of Shelby, is one of the sweetest pics I have ever seen of any pup.....she just has that look about her that is so photogenic .....of course, you do take really great pictures as well, and all the pics of Shelby that you have posted along the way is proof of that. I am so glad you and Jasper are growing closer as each day goes by....

Au contraire my friend... it appears among my friends, I am the only one who worships "the Diamond"... I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Neil Diamond! Seriously ... I own hundreds of cds and can see most of the songs!!!

Oh, I love Niel Diamond! I sang that Sweet Caroline song all day yesterday though. I actually think Jasper sort of looks like she is singing☺️
