Good to hear from you David! Us "old-timers" need to stick together 
I too miss Nitro Every. Single. Day. I don't think that will ever change. He would be 15 now, and most assuredly would have been gone for some time by now even without the cancer. I guess that thought does make it a tiny bit easier. Glad to hear things are good for you and Baxter...yes, we do need pictures!
Paula and Warrior Angel Nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms. Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

The two of us were so close for a horrible while, weren't we? There were always so many similarities and it still seems to be that way. Both of us now have a new little soul to care for and yet both of us will miss forever those perfect souls that brought us here all this time ago.

Osteo and amputation in Dec 2015. Second, inoperable, primary osteosarcoma found in June 2017.
The end of our adventures came Dec 10, 2017. 2 years to the day.
Three IS an important number around here and I cannot believe it's been that long David! Wow.
It's always sad when someone has to join us because of heart-wrenching medical situations, but we are better as a community because of you, Angel Rocky and Baxter. Thank you for stopping by to brighten our day with your lovely boys' presence. Give Baxter extra love from us. I'm sooo glad things are good with him!

Regardless of the circumstances, it's always good to hear from you as we continue to celebrate Rocky and the special bond you two have. I do see Rocky's banner a lot and he does, indeed, make me smile everytime.
I'm glad Baxter is doing well and so glad Rocky sent him to you. You needed him and he needed you.
BTW is Baxter still doing zoomies?

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Of course Baxter still does his zoomies. I managed to get a video of one a few months back, but it's a bit dark and he only did one lap around the living room. He usually does several laps. I'll have to upload it, as well as some photos, and post them here. But I really need to get a better video the next time he does one.
Agreed Paula, that I don't think missing Rocky or Nitro will ever change. I'm OK with that. More than OK, actually. I hope you all are doing well.
Tina, I think back to how similar our paths were as we neared the end. I sometimes forget the name (Palladia) of the chemo both Rocky and Manni were on toward the end of that summer. Maybe forgetting that is a good thing? How's Thilo doing? Baxter was (and still is at times) a bit of an adjustment for me. But that's probably a good thing too.
I'm going to try to be around more.

He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.

He's handsome and he knows it. If he sees anyone while we walk, he fusses for them to come pet him.
I didn't get video of him during the Super Bowl commercial, but he runs to the TV anytime he sees a dog ... or cat ... or squirrel on TV. I have a lot of Baxter nose marks on my TV.

Oh my goodness... he is so SWEET!! He looks totally adorable, spoiled, content 
And those ears... omd I bet if the wind flew hard enough he might fly like a kite

Rocky's third ampuversary is today. Once again, everyone is celebrating my boy with -shaped cookies, candy and flowers.
