Donna, I posted a video on the rescue's page this morning of Ollie playing quietly with one of his stuffies. For some reason, Photobucket didn't want to upload it, so I couldn't post it here. It loaded right away to the rescue site, but also wouldn't load onto our own page. Go figure. I might have to try loading it to Murphy's Youtube channel and see if it works that way.
Michelle, he may get into the bean patch at some point, but there are no beans yet so he isn't interested. We just have to keep those little apples picked up all the time. Hopefully the June drop is almost over.
I agree, Karen. All he has needed was someone to tell him what to do and not to do.
Right now he is laying in front of the door, waiting patiently for Garry to come back through it. He loves his Dad!

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

He KNOWS he's home! He knows he has a pack who understands him! He KNOWS he can relax and be protected and feel secure with his pack leaders!
This is just beautiful, absolutely beautiful! And that picture....soooooo sweet, so content.
Cannot wait for mpre pics and stories in this guy. I know your heart still aches a d I know the waves of grief still come...and will continue to come probably forever. But I know you'll laugh more, you'll have the glorious "routine" of a dog in your hime again, the sounds, the warm snuggles, the kisses. Yeah, Murph and Gus are sooo pleased!

I love labs (ok all dogs) in a pool. I wish my dogs liked to swim. Maybe I should get a baby pool and toss little JL in there! 🙂

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Do you know h is "story"? How he ended up in a shelter in the first place? How many times had he been adopted out and returned because YOUNG people with NO EXPERIENCE couldn't handle him? How long has he been in a shelter all total?
I keep scrolling baxk up and look at his pictures. HE REALLY IS HOME!! It breaks my heart because you do wonder if they fear being given away again. I know Jasper Lily was petrified of car rides at first and I just wonder if she associated them to being given away again. He certainly is laying all over Garry's feet as clpse to him as he can possibly get! "Dad, if you move, I'm coming too!"
Btw, he has a beautiful head...love his bone structure.

We really don't know much about him other than he was a stray found by someone at the stage stop in the next town over from the shelter. They took him in. As far as I know, he only went out to the one family who couldn't handle him.
He went to our vet this afternoon and passed everything. Did I already say this? If so, you will just have to skip this part. We have been so excited that I have written tons of notes today.
Tonight he didn't even need to go into his kennel after supper. He just put himself to sleep in the tiled entry hall. If we get up and move around, he wakes up and checks on us. Then he just goes back to sleep.
I called the shelter this afternoon and told them to take him off of the "home visit" list and put him right onto the "adopted" list. No way he is ever leaving here!!!

Yes, I was thinking last night ... Jasper has reduced her fear of the car, the beach, the low-growls (I kind of miss those) and feels like she is home and she 100% is!

So, so happy! I love it when a pup finds his forever home! He reminds me of DARYL with the way he loves his Dad. He looks like he just knows he has found a safe place to land. He is so sweet! Smiling ear to ear over here. Lori, Ty & the gang
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
