Well, today has been one long day.  The past couple of days Bosch didn't want to go poo.  For those of you who don't know Bosch has fistualas and that is something we have to watch to make sure he does go.  Well, yesterday I broke down and gave him a laxative which I really don't like doing.  He finally went.  Then last night at 7 he started straining to go again.  I thought it just was because of the laxative and that he went a lot before and was cleaning himself out.  So I didn't worry to much about it.  The same thing this morning and I knew something was wrong.  Got him in to see the vet.

He was blocked up we got that to pass and suppressed his anal glands which is common to have to do in a dog with fistualas too.  So we have been doing a lot of walking today and on boiled rice & hamburger to now stop the diarrhea.

I also was told by my vet, Dr Boyer she will be leaving the practice to take a job teaching at Kansas State.  It makes me sad that she will be going as she was our vet through everything with Sassy.  I know it is a good thing for her and wish her well but does it make me a bad person for wishing she was staying?? what-everI trust the other Drs there but she was the first one I met when we went there and made me feel comfortable and always always made sure if I had a concern she would consult the experts.   So I have been crying off & on all day.  I know my babies will continue to get great care its just that connection to Sassy and a great Vet.  I know that she will be helping to bring better vets into their communities.  (if that makes sense)

Thanks for listening to my rambles

My goodness! A long day indeed!!!

And no way on this planet you could EVER be "bad" for wishing someone you and Sassy care about, and who cares so deeply fornyou and Sassy, would stay as your vet!

And you know what? Dr. Boyer will always be just a phone call away. Plus, you've handled that drive to Kansas before, and you can do it again if need be!!

Sorry Bosch is having poo problems. Glad you got that all sorted out though. Anal glad expressing.....soooo stinky!

Be easy on yourself Michelle. We can understand the emotions of hearing she's leaving and always being able to have that connection to Sassy everytime you go in. The connection is still there and you two will always stay that way. And you'll always see Sassy's picture at the vets, right?

Se ding you love always...but a little extra tonight...plus a clothespin for your nose if Bosch still has stinky!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Bless your heart. I hope  you're having a better day today. What a blessing to have a vet that you trust so much. We should all be that lucky.

Will you be able to stay in touch with her?

You are such a great mom, Michelle! I'm glad Bosch got things moving along. Can't imagine always thinking about the fistula condition, yikes.

Well I'm so sad Dr. B is leaving, that's even worse than your favorite hair stylist or dentist moving away! But like I said in the chat, at least she will be training young vets to be just as awesome as she is. And yeah, she really won't be that far away so hopefully you won't need to ever go there but if you did, what a bonus to have a contact like her.

Michelle,
Sorry your Bosch is having problems, and I hope he is netter and hopefully stays that way......Those connections to our beloved angel Tripawds are something that we never want to change, no matter what the connection is. I feel the same way about my vet and my Polly.....he had been her vet since the day I got her, and helped get her and myself through some pretty dark and uncertain times. Thankfully, he is still my vet and my Pearl and Zuzu both see him.

You will always have a special connection with your vet that cared for Sassy, that will never change, but a chance to develop a new relationship with a new vet can be a new beginning as well. Changes in life and circumstances is something that is difficult for many of us, but also a chance to start anew......

Sending {{{hugs}}}, and hoping all your sweet fur-kids are doing well.....

Michelle,

Oh I am so sorry to hear about your vet leaving. I know that bond is so special!!! You are such a good mommy too!!! Poor Bosch ... I do hope he's feeling better and that he will be on the mend very soon. You know your sweet Sassy is watching out for him and keeping him and the rest of your pack safe and sound!

I hope today is a better day for you! In the words of our fearless leader ... eat more chocolate!!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Oh...I hope Bosch is doing better today.  Poo issues can be so uncomfortable...sad.  You are a great mom for staying on top of Bosch's condition and knowing when medical intervention is needed.

And sorry to hear your wonderful vet is moving.  It's sad losing those connections but like others said she's going to be teaching the minds of our future vets.  Hopefully her students will take in all her wonderful ways of working with animals and their caregivers.

Hang in there!
