Thinking ahead to these much sadder than usual holidays, I came across a wonderful gift for myself for Christmas this year....my very first browse through a Christmas decorations catalog, hoping to have any kind of happy thoughts about Christmas coming up this year, and low and behold....a very large, lighted yellow Labrador Retriever outdoor decoration jumped off one of the pages and into my heart....... I placed my order a.s.a.p., and it was delivered today..... I had a difficult time trying to get it together, so I went to take my puppy pet-sit home, came back, and the hubby had it put together and on our front porch all lit up....I only had to add the one thing I created a few days ago, in anticipation of receiving this......the added lighted halo. I will finish it off with a Raven's scarf and she will be done. My Angel Polly....

I don't think I will EVER take it off my front porch.......Oh, and she DID get that right front leg back !!!

Love to all,

Bonnie and Angel Polly  smiley

Bonnie,

That is so sweet. What catalog did you get it from? That should help ease your sadness looking at your special angel on your front porch. Great idea!

That is so special.  Of course, so was Polly.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Bonnie, that is just precious!

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

Bonnie that is beautiful! How wonderful to celebrate Polly this Christmas. Jake and my two kitties that passed away a couple years ago are going to have photo ornaments on our tree. I love Christmas, it's one of my favorite holidays (ok, confession, I love all holidays)..and I think its so important to keep them part of our celebration. I just LOVE the idea of celebrating Polly by having that beautiful ornament on your front porch. Ok I'm getting teary eyed thinking of all of us that lost our pups this year and christmas being right around the corner. HUGS to everyone!

That is sooooo beautiful and looks like Polly! What a wonderful way to celebrate! Unlike Elizabeth, I dread the holidays (always have - long before Shelby was sick) and am trying really hard to keep my inner-Grinch under control....

Maybe I'll set up a tree this year and pull out ALL of Shelby's ornaments and display her years of santa photos (the only thing we did together). Desperate to turn this frown upside down!

I'll definitely be getting Jasper presents and wrapping them up (which I am sure she will be scared of).

Thank you for sharing that ... it's just so gorgeous!!!! Just like Miss Polly!

Much love

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Alison - maybe you need to go to Joann's or somewhere like that and buy some Christmas fleece fabric to wrap up Jasper's gifts in.  That way she can tear them open just like a stuffie and find the prize inside.   She certainly wouldn't be afraid of fleece wrappings.

What a beautiful tribute!  I love it!   Polly will be with you in physical form as well as in your heart!

Betsy Golden and Angel, Eddy.  Eddy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 7-23-14, had a left rear amputation 8-07-14, had 3 rounds of carboplatin chemotherapy,  a small lung met was discovered in October, had 2 rounds of doxorubicin, and unfortunately more lung mets were discovered.  Eddy fought cancer valiantly and went to the Rainbow Bridge 1-6-15, at the age of 7 years and 359 days, just six days short of his 8th birthday.   Best Dog, Ever....you will never be forgotten.

It was definitely meant to be, and I know Polly approves!!! Her banner came up for me when I just clicked in here to thank all of you !!!! I don't think that has ever happened until today, I am so happy !!

Thanks to everyone for your kindness and support, you all know it has meant the world to me......

Penny and Jerry, I found this personal treasure at Improvementscatalog.com.....I am so glad I decided to browse this catalog instead of immediately putting it into the recycling container....

Looking forward to tonight so I can take my lighted treasure back out and put it on my porch! (I would rather keep it in my garage overnight for safe-keeping before I go to bed.)

Love to all,

Bonnie & Angel Polly
