So we all know "Alison hates the holidays" but I hold it together for Jasper and those around me. Santa photos with Shelby was my FAVORITE part of the holidays but I took Jasper last year to start the tradition and of course we did it again. And voila .... Jasper Lily with Santa!

So tonight, I put Jasper with her tree (that has been up over a week)... And yes those are ALL of Shelby's Santa photos that I pulled out for decoration!
She's pouting because those are her presents and she knows it and I wouldn't let her have them! We still have 2 weeks till Christmas!
So ... We go sit on the couch and I am contemplating a glass of wine after a very long week and we hear bells jingle. Odd. No one else is here and we both look at the tree (Jasper obviously does her low-growl). Then I get up and a couple ornaments fall off the tree.
Well obviously... it's "Angel Shelby" visiting!!! It doesn't spook me. It warms my heart. You all are SO right. She visits when she knows I need her the most. Lots of people think I should be "over her" and don't understand since it is SO obvious how much I love Jasper and I do ... I love Jasper very much. She is very special to me. But she is not the "love of my life". Nor does she want to be. She loves her spot in my heart. And she knows that Shelby is still our alpha and guides us both.
So with that... I give you ... holidays at our casa~ We're headed back north for Christmas and I'm sure we'll continue to make new memories with our spirit girl by our side! Hugs and love! Alison with Spirit Shelby AND little Jasper Lily

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
you are right we aren't lots of people and we get it. Of course Shelby is visiting. She knows you need her and she knows both of you need her. She will continue to guide you and visit. She is always there but tonight you must have needed her more than usual for some reason so she was letting you know she was there.

05/04/2006 - Bosch, Sassy's pal, earned his wings 03/29/19 fought cancer for 4 months.

That Jasper Lily IS smiling! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these phots of her, especially that one!! Her coloring, her bone structure in her mug...Jasper Lily is definitely one of a kind!
And then we have our special Shelby, fashionista extraordinaire! She's always such a professional when it comes to having her picture taken.
The photo with Jasper, her tree and her presents...you really are a good mom!! I like the idea of getting them their own little tree.
The way you have Shelby's Christmas photos fixed up so pretty and so festive...yet another great way to celebrate the life of a BREAT dog!!
That girl really knows how to send you signs! And like you and Michelle already observed, she's always there when you need it most. Jist more proof that your connection can NEVER be broken!
Erhaps Shelby was helping to decorate the tree at the Bridge, and she sent a few jingles your way to let you know she's celebrating the holidays too...and has your picture hung in ner tree!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Oh Alison, your great attitude right now just shows how yes, we CAN be happy during this time and still miss and love our angel dogs. You and Jasper have become quite a team for each other's needs, and I'm guessing Shelby's visit at Christmastime is her telling you how happy she is that you found a pup who can bring you such joy in your life. What a neat sign from her!
Safe and happy travels to you both, we can't wait to follow along with another Jasper and Alison road trip.

Thank you all...definitely my angel rattling the bells to let me know she's celebrating with us AND over the bridge. My party girl!
Jasper has come a LONG way and she definitely is just what I needed. Shelby knew I needed a dog to travel with (check), take tons of photos (check) and cuddle (Jasper is getting better at that so check).
Happy Happy Holidays to our entire Tripawd family!!! We are so grateful we can share these moments with you all and bring some cheer to your necks of the woods!

Such a doll! She definitely was flirting with Santa. And a message from Shelby, too. That is so special this time of year. Murphy and Gus haven't sent us any messages since this summer when Murphy's yellow Speedo went to Jasper here in town. That one was a grungy old penny found right where we met Jasper.

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
LOL ! Jasper definitely has a thing for the boys! So did Shelby ... both preferred men over women. Odd.
So this morning ... walking Jasper... we come home and on the door mat is a monarch butterfly. Perfection. Just laying there. Was not there when we left. Jasper led me to it. It was dead (I think) but interesting ... my girl really is trying to get in touch this weekend since she knows I've got the holiday blues! I love the support and love from her, the other angels and you all!

Jasper sure looks like she enjoyed having these pictures taken. So pretty she is! And Shelby is always with you! Even when you don't think she is she's still there. Thanks for sharing both your girls are so beautiful!

Thank you!!! Jasper really is a pretty girl.... it was her ears that drew her to me on Petfinder but she really has beautiful markings and is unique... like her big angel sister, she's one of a kind! 🙂
