OMG!!! She’s such a FAKER!!!!! Golly!!! 😂 😂 😂

I’m sure there’s still some healing, but to see this!!! She literally would barely move for days. I’m not extremely hopeful now! I’m so glad I have my ponytail laying on the flat part of the pet stairs cause when she went on it, I grabbed it, and she started to try to get it. It honestly was so nice to see her being playful! 🥰 I went on for about 4 mins, but stopped cause I didn’t want to overwork her.

Thanks Sally, you’ve always been such an amazing cheerleader for both myself and Tuni! This has to be the last hurdle for a long while cause I’ll be honest, I’m at the end of what I can afford. Poor Possum really needs her teeth worked on, but I’ll probably have to be on the back burner until late summer or fall, as long as we are smooth sailing from here. Unless I win the lottery of course! 😆 Thanks again for the encouragement!

And thank you Holly for always outlining all the good things that come out of a situation. You are so knowledgeable and grateful for that!!! I’ve been so mentally exhausted for months, and I couldn’t imagine how I’d be if it weren’t from you, Sally and Rene! All you ladies are so amazing!!!!

Also in post 556, I meant to say “I’m NOW extremely hopeful,” not “Im not extremely hopeful.”

Whoo hoo Tuni smiley_clap
Thanks for posting this!!! Who is that? Yeah, that's Petunia/TUNI 😍 Keep it up girl you got this!!!! Yes, she has healing to do, and fluids and meds can be miraculous when needed. See what she thinks about the baby food. I suspect she laps it right up for you. It's cheap, so if so, buy more and stock it like the Tiki Cat Thrive. Only buy Gerbers turkey and gravy; chicken and gravy both are hits here. I have heard others love ham & gravy, and some beef. We have had success with turkey and chicken. As always, there is the disclaimer that all cats are different, but yeah, I bet one is a hit!

I can speak for us all; we are happy to help in any way we can.
I look forward to hearing you call the vet tomorrow with good news and that Petunia is eating for you.

Please give Tuni a healing chin scratch from us and, yes, baby food or a tiki cat. Possum too!!!

Well that video tells you exactly what Tuni thinks....nope....not giving up yet Mom!!  I have some more ,magic to pull out the hat👏

This video really is a treasure and we thank you for sharing!

Samantha,  it's our privilege  to be on thos joirney with 7ou and to get to know Petunia and Possum.  The depth of your devotion  and dedication is truly heroic 💖  The kitty  w knowledge  that has been gained from the I information  you and Holly have shared truly is invaluable.

Go ahead and let her play with your ponytail one more time before bedtime and film it.  That was just precious 👍

SHE ATE!!! It was only a little, but SHE got off the bed and went to the food bowl!!! I didn’t have her portion of the food there (cause I didn’t want Possum to have double portions), so I got up and walked to the kitchen. Petunia followed me and sat next to me as I put the food in her bowl. Then I walked back to where her food is put, and she “walked” over!!!

She only had a little bit before going back on the bed, but then I decided to bring the bowl to her, and SHE’S EATING!!! SHE’S REALLY EATING!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!

I woke up to Tuni right by me, started to pet her and she was PURRING!! Oh I’ve missed that sound! It’s been sooooo many days! I am just blown away how quickly she responded to the meds. Like 24hrs ago, she barely would pick up her head, and when I would, it felt heavy.

I called this morning and left a message to the doc. He called back but was in a meeting, but he said for her to stay on the meds for two weeks and then he wants to recheck her liver values and work on trying to get those down.

I did ask him yesterday about the Solensia and if the dosage is standard across the board, and he said yes. The thing is she has had this shot 6 times and the other 5 times she didn’t have any kind of reaction to it. So I don’t know.

Sounds like excellent plan & back to see him in two weeks!

I am NOT trying to freak you out on the Solensia. It appears it is not tolerated in ALL cats. There are far more positive stories that it is miraculous for cats.  When we have aging cats and other health issues, meds all come into play. The sad thing is because we are using these new meds in these cats, health issues on medication. It is hard to pinpoint the cause of what is happening.

It is something to remember, mainly the timing since this occurred. I'm not saying it is the cause.

This site is fantastic and written by a vet. I reached out to him at one time on a new medication for heart disease for cats, and he sent me all the info he had. He is a lovely man; he will take questions and or comments.

The Solensia Cat Owner Feedback Page Ron Hines DVM PhD - https://vetspac.....back-page/

There is other information out there on positive and negative feedback on Solensia. You can find it if you desire. We have to look at the entire picture and make the best-informed decisions. It's a challenging position to be in when in such NEED, and there are few choices. You always put the girl's best interest first, which is all we can do.

I am leary of new medications and any injections for a good reason in cats (right or wrong). That is me when we have other health issues. There is also a time when we have to make that choice and take a chance. If we are dealing with arthritis only and everything else is 100%, to me, it is a different story.

Whatever set this into motion, the meds and fluids are helping, thank heavens!!!

FWIW just gave dog Frankie first inejection of Librela (sp).  The Bet just started using that for dogs a few months ago and Solsia for cats.  .  She also started using Solensia.  IF...IF...I recall correctly, at the appt she wasnt sure if she had enough Librela for Grankie, but said she could use Solensia with proper dose, etc.  if necessary.  As it turned out, she had the Lobrela.  His injection is once a monthMy Bet said "virtually no side effects"   that would  prevent her from using it.

How often is Tuni's injection?  Guessing  if had no issues before, probably  not the cause.  Not sure how long the Solensia  stays in the system.  Good question for the Vet

As always, Holly's input is invaluable !

Yes, 100% The same is true for dogs. Just as not all people can take the same drug with the same results, it's the same in people. And when you add senior issues into the picture, it gets even more complicated to try to pinpoint the cause of some unusual behaviors. I think that in two weeks when you see the vet you'll have a better idea of what's going on and can come up with a plan to minimize any other issues like this.

I'm so glad she is back to her old self! smiley_clap

I'm heading to bed, but I wanted you to know we were thinking of you and sending all our well wishes and prayers for continued improvements. I will check back tomorrow for any updates.

Hugs and love to the girls, please.
