I had a freak out moment. I still don’t know if I should be worried. I turned to look at Petunia and noticed her fidgeting (I think that’s the word?) really intensely. I ran over to her, and eventually sat her upside (she was laying on the side with the one back leg). She then threw up a tiny bit. It was then I realized that the movement she was making is how cats look when throwing up a hair ball. It made me so worried cause she couldn’t get herself upright. Can this be dangerous? My heart seriously stopped when I saw this. She does not throw up at all (unlike Possum who is my puker). She’s resting now, but I was so scared not knowing what was going on. I will continue to monitor her, but what I’m wondering is if I wasn’t there, would she have been able to throw up while laying on her side? It made me incredibly sad that she couldn’t get herself upright.

Holly will have to answer this one.

My "not worth much opinion" when it comes to cats puking, but I know dogs can puke laying down when it happens unexpectedly.

So it wasn't  an actual hairball, but just a little "spit up"?

My "not worth much opinion"

You do not give yourself enough credit, Sally!!! Your opinion is always GOLD!!!

I want to think so, but honestly, I can't say 100%. I DO NOT KNOW...

Purrkins is not a puker either, and on the rare occasion it has happened, I was overly concerned, too!  It takes a lot out of them to puke and balance on three in the process, and it does look different on three legs.

Yes, keep a journal - time, the date she has puked and what was in it, clear liquid, hair, bile (yellow), food, etc., and if she ate anything new or relevant. New supplements. What did the puke look like? You will know if it is blue-tinged or if the blue pill comes up whole. (denamarin )

Breathe, you were home and able to help Petunia.

I would be feeling the same way, grateful I was home, and then the thought of what if I was not!!! YOU WERE, and ALL is OK!!

Literally as I was reading your posts, Petunia puked again. The first one was very small, but I’m not sure if she got it all out. It was clear.

This time has some red speckles in it. I remember seeing something like this (but a little more red) back in 2017 when she threw up, so I don’t want to freak out too much, but monitor her. Ugh, I hate this.

I don't know what food she has eaten. Is there any coloring in the food?  I don't like seeing any pink tinge!!!

What are the chances the hyper T meds is doing this?

Methimazole oral can cause vomiting, and this is one of the reasons we chose the transdermal med route.

We just got our new script today, which was $ 21, so this might be doable for you. This is a syringe, not a click pen, and that is what makes it more expensive. Do some looking into compounding pharmacies In your area and ask your vet who they use. (look them up too)

Yeah, just monitor.   If she has a little gastro upset her tummy lining may be irritated.

I know you'll check with her Vet,  but I wouldn't be too concerned.

A little something to make you laugh. I had a dog on prednisone, a steroid and needed to watch for any stomach irritation. He did throw up and I sent a picture to the vet as I was afraid it had some awful looking kind of yellowish orange bow in it I did tell her that he had been eating normally and the only unusual thing he had was some cheetos. I knew he probably wouldn't be on earth very much longer so I was giving him anything that made him happy. Needless to say, she assured me it was just the Cheetos and not the prednisone.😜 He continued to have his Cheetos , but just only a couple at a time👍

Yes, continue to monitor - Can you send pics to your vet? If so, it couldn't hurt to get their input. And put your mind at ease.

I had one of our angel kitties do that, and it was all pink. I was sure it was blood. It was not. It was fresh salmon. ((((HUGS)))

I am not sure what happened. I think I decided to monitor her and she was completely fine as if it was a fluke. I will add that in the last 20 mins, she was playing with the laser I had going, playing with a plastic bag for a min and she’s purring. I don’t like how her body is kinda flinching. I don’t know what that means. It is snowing A LOT right now, so I am hoping she is okay cause I do not want to go out there. I’ll be feeding her soon so I’ll see if she eats, especially if she gets excited to eat.

She has been on the HT meds for 3 months, so I don’t think it’s the meds itself, otherwise I would think she would have thrown up more the last 3 months. I just don’t know if her T4 values have dropped under 0.8. She was at 1.8, but she also came down from 4.9 in 3 months. It’s been just over 3 weeks since her bloodwork.

Tuni is back on her pate food (Blue Wilderness Adult Recipe).

I believe you would have seen this before now if it were the oral meth. And yes, you can recheck her levels in 3-4 weeks if you are concerned. We do once a month until we get thyroid in a good range, then every 3 months.

She's being herself so that's  really good.  Just give her tummy time to settle before feeding her....and maybe just small amount at first.I don't that the Vet would even suggest a Vet visit st this point with her acting so normal otherwise.
