Hi everyone.
Our beloved cat Lilly was shot last Monday evening with an air rifle, the result was a shattered front left leg which had to be amputated. She had surgery on the 20th Sept it all went very well, there was a lot of damage and its left us bewildered and very upset.
I researched 3 legged cats and found this site. I'm sure we can discover all sorts of info, that will help her over the coming months.
We have just got back from the vets on her 4 day post op check and pleased to say its all going really well. The wound is healing nicely, there is no infection and she is in remarkably good spirits.
THere is no sign of any depression, she is very alert, eating really well and very comfortable no doubt helped by the cocktail of drugs she is on.
Anyway we just wanted to say hi and look forward to chatting with some of you . . . . [Image Can Not Be Found]

Mike & Jane
Hi Mike & Jane, welcome! I'm so sorry you had to join our club, what a rotten thing for someone to do to Lilly! I'm glad she is doing well through recovery.
Yes you can learn lots here! We just published the second edition of our Tripawd cats book, and we have endless free resources too like our What to Expect articles , and you might want to check out our Catio articles too, now that she's a front legger it's a good way to keep her safe but allow her to enjoy the outdoors.
Let us know if we can answer any questions! Oh and this is how adding images to the Forums works:
- Upload pics to a photo sharing site like imgur.com or your own Tripawds blog (https://tripawd...../supporter). Pictures and video have to be hosted (live) somewhere other than in the forums.
- Once the photo is uploaded somewhere, right click and copy the Image URL or just copy the image if you’re on a phone
- Return to your Tripawds Forum post and paste the image URL (or the image itself) in your post. It should automatically appear.
If you’d like help figuring out the process let me know.
Just catching up on your sweet Lily. Such a bummer ,to hear how all this senseless accident happened.
However, To hear ,how well she is doing this early in recovery is wonderful news!! Recovery may still have a few ups and downs over the next week or so, but sounds like Lilly has a good handle on , mastering life on three already.
Look forward to more updates and following along on thos amazing little kitty.
Hugs
