Thanks everyone! I think we all got a good nights sleep last night. Rusty actually stayed upstairs all night and explored, slept on one of his beds, and just relaxed. This is what I woke up to when I went to check on him.
8 sec video of Rusty's greeting as we walked upstairs
Our happy boy-morning greeting at top of stairs
Unfortunately he made it down the stairs so fast that I didn’t get to get a video of his dissent from upstairs!🤣 isn’t that wonderful! 😻
Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014. Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer). He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure. He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.
It doesn't get any sweeter than that 🙂 I want to come over and snuggle with him!! 🙂 What a lovely way to start your morning! And I heard him purring too! :-),
Thanks for sharing the sweetness!
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

We finally took down the crate this weekend. Since it was in the closet anyway, we set up everything on the floor of the closet, replicating what was in the crate. The doors to upstairs have been left open as Rusty has proven he can go up and down without issue. As you could see from the earlier videos and pics, those are rug covered.
We actively use our basement and were up and down yesterday. Rusty tried those stairs for the first time yesterday. Down-no issue. He struggled a little bit coming up. They are painted wooden steps. So that simply meant a trip to Home Depot where we got the rug pieces that you put on the steps. I put them down with the no slip treds under it. We will see if that helps.
I guess this goes back to what you all were saying about for as much prep you do, the furbaby will let us know what else they need from us. This is a really good position to be in though!

Yes it is good to be able to see and make adjustments as needed. There is always a surpise we didn't think of and Rusty will show all of those things! I think it has taken us the year to get everything tripawd proof as best as we can. We have to build one thing so the humans can function that will be a winter project.
The basement steps would of been tough for him without the carpet. Glad your home to see what needs adjusted Rusty will appreciate all of this and thrive! He is lucky to have you guys and visa versa 😻
❤️
Yay Rusty, you’re doing the speed run of the house, just to make sure everything is up to par and your Hoomans are catching on beautifully! New carpet on the stairs for you?! You’re GOOD!!!!
You have all rocked this Tripawd kitty recovery with flying colours!!! Well done! Now you get to enjoy the capers of a cat! Can’t wait for the updates and pictures!
cuddles and chin rubs Pal! ❤️

Awww.. that is so sweet. It is so good to see him looking like he is getting his normal life back! That pic just makes your eyes fill up and your mouth smile Especially when you know what it takes to get there! We are going to have to redo our stairs going up to the bedrooms. Our little mischievous wonders have used the top 3 stairs as built in scratching posts for too long lol. We are going to do the rug treads in the middle like you did. I believe that will be the winter project. We have laminate floors downstairs, just a couple of small rugs. I may have to get more rugs for the crew. Mitchell will appreciate that too as he is having a harder time getting around now. I think I will wait and see the what and where once he has free run. Thank you for sharing the picture, started my morning off with a smile!

Me too. Knowing I had people there almost immediately helped so much.
