Well I posted that but now it's the next day and he seems to be feeling worse today. 🙁

He's kinda restless and agitated and whines when I try to readjust his shirt. I'm waiting for him to settle down a bit before I check on his wound again.

He still has the Fentynal  patch, right?  That can cause the agitation and vocalizations.  Of course, it can also be pain signals

You can ask the Vet maybe about switching to Gabapentin or Buprenorphine as there is some  indication  the patch isnt as effective as once though.

Overall Coco is still doing well, so maybe it's just the matter of different pain control.  Still very early in recovery......the "recovery is no picnic" phase.

Yep he still has the patch. The vet clinics in my immediate area are closed now until monday but we have an appointment on tuesday to have the patch removed as it should be spent by then. I will ask about those meds. Is there a sort of general number of days or weeks that cats need the pain management or is it always a case by case scenario?

Aww great photo!

Yes that fentanyl could definitely cause it. I hope he's better and more settled today. And yes, pain management is generally something that needs fine-tuning. All bodies respond to pain medication a little differently, and while there are guidelines for how to control pain in most pets and people, we can't predict precisely how a patient will respond. Since animals can't tell us how they feel with words, we have to watch their behavior to interpret how they are responding to the meds. Most do need some kind of adjustment.
