I went and met Three Paw's new oncologist today to discuss her regimen. It has been a hard few months because her last oncologist left about three months ago and she really liked him. She has a thing for the hirsute - perhaps a throwback from her Turkish street days. Anyway, after he left I was feeling a little lost because there didn't seem to be anyone in the clinic dedicated to her case. Now I feel things have changed and she has a lovely new doctor. I like her very much. The first thing she did was give me a big kiss and hug (mama management is very important I think) and asked how Three Paw was after her anaesthesia experience. I told her Three Paw had bounced back perfectly and the oncologist was visibly delighted. 'Un gatto stupendo' she said. Makes me wonder if the anaesthesia scare might have been a closer shave than let on.

Anyway, she was very thorough with her explanation, and we are adding Cyclophosfamide to the mix. She will have low dose ( specifically measured to her weight) every morning along with the other things she is taking. I know there is a risk of cystitis with this drug so I will be vigilant on this front. She told me not to kiss Three Paw which, of course, is impossible. I will probably stop with the tongue but my girl will still get her kisses, I can just wipe my lips after, right 🙂

Best thing was, when I came home I had to give Three Paw her Alevica medication and she was not impressed. She got in such a mood she ran down into the garden ( oh my all those stairs) and sat in her favourite spot to gaze out on the Tuscan hills. This makes me very happy to see - all that spirit and sass.  She always forgets five minutes later too so we had a nice sit together after the cloud had lifted.
