“Ask a Vet” Live Chat: Tuesday, 11/18, 9pm Eastern

Please join us for the next “Ask a Vet” Live Chat, this Tuesday, November 18, at 9pm Eastern, 6pm Pacific.

Our vet will be Dr. Pam Wiltzius, a veterinarian in Puyallup, Washington. Dr. Wiltzius graduated in 1992 from University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2003, she and her husband moved to Puyallup, WA where she currently works at River Road Animal Hospital. They have 3 dogs, 3 birds, and 1 lizard.

  1. My Lab/Golden has osteosarcoma n we had rear leg amputated a week ago.
    I have noticed so many pics tha show the amputation all the way up ……ours still has a partial stump ?
    Just wondering ,

    • Different surgeons will perform amputation at different locations depending upon their preference, expertise, recommendation, and/or tumor location among other reasons. Please contact your vet with any specific concerns. If there are at least two joints in the limb, your dog may be a good candidate for a prosthetic.
