With apologies for the late notice, we just learned about this impawtant event for Greyhound pawrents. Since bone cancer is one of the leading diseases affecting Greys, we’re sure that our Ohio-based members will find this conference beneficial to attend.
This Saturday, May 7, the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the OSU Greyhound Program is presenting the Second Annual OSU Greyhound Health and Wellness Conference.
This event will present valuable medical and surgical information for Greyhound owners, adopters, trainers, and for veterinarians involved in the care of Greyhounds.
Topics will include common diseases in Greyhounds, separation anxiety, and Greyhound genetics. among others. Dr. Guillermo Cuoto, one of the leading doctors researching cancers in Greyhounds, will present. There will be a joint morning session for the whole group; the afternoon sessions will be separate for owners/adopters and for veterinarians.
Download the brochure here to make plans to attend. If you can’t, you can follow the OSU program on their Facebook page!
Hi, my name is Rosie. I love my dog very much. But from past few days, it was feeling difficulty in taking breathing. Recently its abdomen getting swelling. I have read in one site, these are the symptoms of cancer if these are really cancer symptoms, what I have to do now? And also tell me it shows any effect to family?
We highly recommend you see your vet as soon as possible and get an abdominal ultrasound to check for hemangiosarcoma. Please post in the discussion forums for much more advice from members than we alone can provide here. Thanks for asking and best wishes.
Thanks Jerry!!
Roos from Soggy Gahanna OH. Since my pack-brother and I last P-mailed you, we now have been joined by 2 Galgos from Scooby in Spain and a Sloughi. Our best friend, Azie, passed from Osteo on Valentine’s day a few years ago, but he is still with us in spirit. Mom said to tell everyone that if they are coming in to Columbus for the conference to email her at amethystgroups@yahoo.com for details about a Friday evening get-together. Apparently, the skin pawrents are going to spend the evening before the conference bragging about us!!
Paws up and Roos – your friends, GiGi and Callie
Oh what fun! I wish we could be there, it sounds like a great time. Thank you for the invite, I hope you get to meet some of our Tripawd members 🙂
